Dark Paladin

Thursday

Cyber Ouroboros is a very interesting card that comes SO close to being good.  In short, if this card is removed from play, by sending one card from your Hand to your Graveyard, you can Draw one card from your Deck.

Depending on how you look at this card, it can be a 1-for-1...or it is a -1.  Allow me to explain.  If you count this card as being removed as one card you lose, plus the discard, then even by Drawing, that's a -1.

However, if you only count the discard, than the Draw makes it a 1-for-1.

It's good that the card doesn't have to be a specific type, so you can discard a Monster, Magic, or Trap to get the effect.  It would be a nice bonus to Draw a card after you remove this Machine to Special Summon Dark Hours though.

Ratings:

Traditional:     2/5  No real need.

Advanced:  3.25/5  Drawing cards is always welcome.

Well, this is Cyber Valley's cousin from the boonies. IF he gets removed, you can discard a card in order to draw one. Honestly, this only combos with Cyber Valley, as you only get deck cycling with this card otherwise. It can be very useful, especially with a hand full of Destiny Heroes, discarding one while digging for that ever necessary Destiny Draw. He's ok, but with no really reliable way to get him onto the field as the same time as Cyber Valley or Dimensional Fissure (or something of that nature) besides your normal summon he is not that great.

I would rather use my normal summon in order to bring out Armageddon Knight or something else. He just has too high of an ATK to be abused by Machine Duplication, thus I want to play him, but won't.

Cyber Ourboros

 I hate starting a review.

Cyber Ourboros is a card that - besides being a pain to spell and pronounce - is a Dark Machine. He bears a pitiful 100 ATK by 600 DEF, but that really doesn't mean anything when you look at his effect. He's actually quite good in the right deck. Infact, in Dark decks this card can lead to pretty outstanding advantage.

The key is to make his play worthwhile. You obviously don't want to set this guy, or even let him touch the field. This card you discard, then use his ability to chuck something like Dasher so you can draw something else, then later take full advantage of Dasher's effect -  therefore creating massive advantage for you in the long run. Nothing like getting the most bang for your buck, and this card certainly does just that.

Granted outside of Dark decks, this is just pathetic. The absolute best thing about him in a machine deck is that Machine Duplication works with him. That's pretty much it.

In Traditional, he's actually quite nice, since you can remove him via BLS/CED, then send back something useless for a chance at something rediculously overpowered.

I'm sure there's another combo I forgot about again, but unless it wins you the game instantly, it won't change my score.

Traditional: 2.5/5 He's actually good once here.
Advanced: 3.5/5 In a dark deck. Everything else this card hardly registers.

Thursday - Cyber Ouroboros

Hey guys, after a couple days of not reviewing any cards, I'm here today on Pojo to review Cyber Ouroboros, a common Effect Monster released in Phantom of Darkness. First, let's go over his effect.

Effect Explanation
Cyber Ouroboros allows its owner to discard 1 card from his/her hand when its Removed From the Game to draw 1 card from your deck. Sending a card from the hand to the Graveyard is the cost that the player has to pay in order to draw the card from his/her deck, so Cyber Ouroboros's effect is a Trigger Effect. This effect can also be activated in the Damage Step.

Effect Analysis
Cyber Ouroboros's effect is a weird effect that doesn't seem to come in handy like most monsters' effects that only allow their owners to draw 1 card from the deck rather than 2 or 3 at the same time. Why is this so? Because only drawing 1 card from the deck after using up your Summon from the previous turn simply 1) takes too much time and 2) isn't worth the trouble. Cards like Upstart Goblin only allows the player to draw 1 card, but it lets the player draw that card immediately and doesn't waste a Summon for the turn.

Times when Effect would be useful
This card's effect will most likely never be useful, but it can be useful when multiple copies of itself are on the field and they were all destroyed and Removed From the Game because of the effect of Macro Cosmos or Dimensional Fissure, and three cards that would be useful when Dimensional Fissure is acrivated are discarded from the hand. The effect can also come in handy when cards that inflict damage to your life points or put you in a tight situation activate when a card is discarded from your hand. Cyber Ouroboros's effect doesn't discard a card from the hand, it sends a card from the hand to the Graveyard. However, there is a good part about this card that could be a bit more common, but still, you shouldn't run this card only for this purpose. If this card was in the Graveyard along with 2 other DARK monsters to Special Summon Dark Armed Dragon, the player could remove this card from play to use Dark Armed Dragon's effect and send a DARK monster to the Graveyard, allowing Dark Armed Dragon to destroy another card.

Why will Cyber Ouroboros's Effect not be useful?
Cyber Ouroboros's Effect doesn't come in handy in this fast-paces format because it's effect is slow, which I also mentioned in a previous section. It's also not consistent enough, because its effect is just so useless and only comes in handy in extremely rare conditions. Most of the bad sides of this card were mentioned previously, so i won't go into them again here.

Traditional: 1.7/5 - Chaos removes DARK monsters from play.
Advanced: 2/5

Cyber Ouroboros

When I first saw this card I actually thought it had a decent shot of seeing play in Macro Cosmos Variants. Unfortunately for this card it suffers from Subpar Stat Syndrome, ie it had potential to see play if it had been given better stats. Mix that in with an effect that isn't really that great to begin with, and you see why no Cosmos Variants have taken to this card yet.

I think thursday contains the essence of a scooter.

cyber thingy is useless because if you used it in a D.D. monarch deck or such, you couldnt activate it's effect because it cant be sent to the grave with D-fissure in play. and with any card effect other then soul release, it misses it's timing! it doesnt even give you decent advantage!

1/5 all.
