All right, we start off the new week with a fan
request, of a very old card, Cat's Ear Tribe, from
Magician's Force. Cat's Ear Tribe is a Level 1
monster, who is a Beast-Warrior of the Earth
attribute with 200 atk. and 100 def. However, you
probably won't attack with our feline friend...ever.
During the Damage Step(s) of your opponent's turn,
the original attack of their monster(s) that attack
Cat's Ear Tribe becomes 200 points.
So, if it were in attack mode, ignoring any other
increases to attack that may be equipped or added,
both monsters would be destroyed.
In defense mode, that effect does little to nothing,
except perhaps against an Airknight or Exarion
Universe with trample or something?
Not a completely useless card, just not the most
useful thing we have available.

Cat's Ear Tribe
I have always had my eye on this little furball.
They are good stallers that can pretty much survive
battle if you can boost their attack. They only have
200, but their effect drops all attacking monsters
to 200 as well. Combined with Burden of the Mighty,
all of your opponent's monsters will have 0 ATK
during their battle phase. It is a cute trick, but
even these cute kittens can't stand up to being
played competitively. Most popular cards just ruin
them

The
CotD for today is cat's ear tribe. A fan request,
this thing has a picture of adorable kittens. Who
doesnt like kittens? Not to mention the fact that it
really messes with your opponent. Ever hear of the
chinese water torture? The chinese would drip water
on the victim once every hour. The catch is, the
victim would actually go crazy from waiting for the
next drip. this is kinda like that. your opponent
knows he/she will eventually have to give up a
monster, so it really messes up their plans and buys
you a lot of time. of course, it can always backfire
with treeborn or something like a floater, but those
arent showing up as much as they used to. one might
even be able to make some support for this, like
kishido spirit, in a fun deck. but now that monarchs
have gained the dark version, this just isnt right
for the format.
1/5 trad. way to much removal going on.
2.5/5 adv. for the format

Cat's Ear Tribe
Back in the days of equip spell cards, I remember
people playing one of this, throwing an Axe of
Despair on it, and knowing nothing short of monster
removal would take it out. ...then the opponent
would play one of their three copies of Fissure and
take it out. Or flip Man-Eater Bug. Or play Dark
Hole or Raigeki, for that matter.
This was one of the softer, easier to break locks in
the game. Sub-par at best, completely irrelevant to
the game currently.
