Drastic Drop Off, the superior version of Drop Off.
While Drop Off can only send the card just drawn by
your opponent to the Graveyard, Drastic Drop Off can
be activated any time your opponent adds a card from
their Deck to their Hand, to include, but not
limited to, a Draw, and then your opponent discards
the card.
Definately a staple card in Hand Control and Deck
Destruction, but how popular is that in this Format?
More often than not, your opponent wants their cards
in the Graveyard right now, so you don't need to
help expedite the process. Drastic Drop Off fits the
category of "good card, bad for the environment."
Ratings:
Traditional: 1/5 Helps speed opponent's Chaos
Advanced: 3.5/5 Not bad, but not for the Format.

Drastic Drop Off
This is an interesting card, and an easy choice for
counter-trap decks.
Everyone remembers Drop Off is a straight 1:1 that
was played heavily in the earlier days of Yu-Gi-Oh,
in the hand control era. This is a far improved
version of that, being able to not only strip an
opponent of a normal draw, but also a deck seach (Sangan,
Reinforcement of the Army), or reduce the usefulness
of a Destiny Draw or Allure of Darkness.
With Van'Dagylon decks, it becomes an incredibly
easy way to trigger a counter-trap that allows his
free Special Summon. With counter-fairy decks, it
becomes a +1 for each Bountiful Artemis you have on
the field. This way, an opponent who turtles and
refuses to play into more common counter-traps that
deck plays will still lose control of the game to
you.
Expect to see some rogue decks playing this.

Drastic Drop Off
Well, at least they didn't make the last ultra Call
of the Earthbound. This is a nice card simply by the
fact that it is far more versatile than the original
Drop Off. Any time your opponent draws, you discard
that card (or one of the cards). It is also a
counter, which Counter Fairies love. I can also see
this working in a hand control deck using Dark Red
Enchanter, Don Zaloog and Thestalos. I do think that
we have better cards for our trap slots at the
moment, as sending the card back to the deck with
Trap Dustshoot is far more disruptive. Three of
these cards set will make life very difficult for
your opponent.

Drastic Drop Off
Hello fellow duelists! Sorry I'm not keeping
up with these CoTD reviews. I am now only going
to repond to whatever I feel that would need
explaining on why and how the card is good and
its uses in duels. Today, we have a card that is
yet another counter against DAD decks since they
rely on searching and drawing a lot. Drastic
Drop Off is quite an interesting card since it
activates in response to a player action, not a
summon, effect activation, etc. Here are the
pros about Drastic Drop Off and how you should
or might use it:
Spell Speed 3 (For those who don't know what
spell speed is, it is how fast a card's effect
can activate on the field and in response to any
action, summoning, or other card effect. 1 is
the lowest, which usually consists of normal
spells and a few monsters' effects, 2 is faster
than 1, which usually consists of monster
effects that can negate other effects,
quick-play spells, and normal/continuous traps,
and 3 is the fastest which is basically counter
traps.)
Can only be negated by other counter traps
that negate trap effects and Jinzo/Royal Decree.
Forces the opponent to discard the card they
added to their hand from their deck, such as the
opponent using Reinforcement of the Army, Sangan,
E-Hero Stratos.
Forces the opponent to discard a card they
drew from their card effect, such as the popular
Allure of Darkness, Trade-In, D-Draw, etc.
It can also be treated as a regular Drop Off
which forces the opponent to discard the card
they drew during their draw phase.
Can mess up opponent's strategies and gives
hand control to you.
Disrupts Gadget decks greatly.
I believe this card is a fine Sidedeck
choice and can be playable in a DAD (Dark Armed
Dragon) counterpart deck, which I am currently
trying to collaborate with other fellow duelists
out there. If you have any out-of-the-box ideas
that you think no one knows yet, I would
appreciate it if you would tell me them at
pathoon@aol.com. The more I know, the better
the deck I'm trying to put together will be. (By
the way, in case anyone is wondering why I'm not
writing any new articles recently, it is because
I don't want to make DAD decks and other dark
decks that are just the same. Like I said
before, I'm making a DAD counterpart deck, so it
will take a while to put together.) Thank you
for reading!

drastic drop off is pretty cool. it'd be nicer if it
shuffled the card back into the deck, but its pretty
good right now. compare these two cards.
1: FLIP: draw one card
2: FLIP: destroy one s/t
the first one is deemed faster because you get a
draw for it. but with drastic drop off, you can, at
the cost of a trap, slow down your opponent a lot!
but this still isnt good enough to main deck, but if
there's something like machine beatdown that uses a
lot of draws, you should probably side in a few of
these.
