Closing the week, appropriately
enough, chosen by me, is Toy Magician, a card that
has gotten a lot of hype, which isn't too difficult
to see why.Toy Magician is a Light monster, who is
appropriately a Spellcaster with 1600 atk, 1500 def,
and is Level 4.
First, you can set this card
face-down in your Magic and Trap card Zone as a
Magic card.If destroyed while face down by your
opponent's card effect and sent to the Graveyard,
which it most likely would be, you can Special
Summon Toy Magician during the End Phase.
Additionally, when this card is
Flip Summoned, you can destroy a number of Magic or
Trap cards on the Field equal to the number of Toy
Magicians on the Field. That could be a potential +3, obviously
assuming you had three on the Field.

Toy Magician
Finally we get this little critter. It is even
better at this point in the game, as spell and trap
destruction is so vital to the success of so many
decks. It can be used as a lure, a bluff and an all
around annoyance in a time when annoying cards win
games. 1600 ATK is solid, but not great, and the DEF
is ok I guess. This is one of those cards that lets
you get around the rules, like Makyura the
Destructor, and cards that bend rules are very
powerful indeed. You can set him like a spell or
trap, in order to bluff with an all monster hand, or
even to draw out a Mystical Space Typhoon, Dust
Tornado or Heavy Storm for the +1.
But wait! There's MORE! When he is flip summoned,
you destroy spell or trap cards on the field equal
to the number of Top Magicians you already have.
This is not as useful, nor effective as Stratos, so
you have to take it with a grain of salt. It is one
of the most versatile cards in the game, which is
enough to earn it a 4/5 score on it's own, but the
fact that it bends the rules sends this little guy
off the charts. I have no idea where he could fit
in, but maybe a Spellcaster deck could use him, as
they need some tricks pretty badly in order to come
close to being competitive.
Again, another rather short review for a great card,
but I am VERY tired writing right now, so I think
that the rest of the COTD people can give this card
some recognition.

Todays card up for review is Toy Magician. Its
about time that we get this card in America. The
effect is pretty decent. Being the only monster that
I know of to be set in the spell/trap zone is pretty
cool. Once again, with the meta out here, Gyzarus,
Dark Armed Dragon, Or Judgment will kill this while
in your s/t zone, but then get run over when it
hitʼs the field face up.
Its last effect is pretty cool if you can pull
it off somehow. Destroying multiple monster is
obviously always cool. I would really enjoy seeing
someone break this card in some way, but I cannot
think of a way. At least the card art is amazing!

This, I think, is a bit better
then that one trap I forget the name of(When it's
destroyed, you get a sacable token), because when a
s/t would be destroyed, it's usually on your
opponents turn and you don't wanna summon it then,
cuz odds are it'll get blasted. Then again, it's not
as versatile as dark coffin, which either discards
or destroys a monster. A heck, just play it.
