Dark Paladin
Wednesday

Moving along this week, after all ready having chosen a Magic card specifically for Spellcasters, we come to an interesting Spellcaster monster who is a Secret Rare, Tempest Magician, who is Level 6, and a Dark Synchro monster with 2200 attack and 1400 defense who is Synchro Summoned with one Tuner and one or more non-Tuner Spellcaster-type monsters.

When this card is Synchro Summoned, place one Magic Counter on it.
Once per turn, you can discard any number of cards to place one counter on a Monster(s) you control for each card discarded.

Furthermore, you can remove all Magic Counters on the Field to inflict 500 points of damage to your opponent's Lifepoints for each removed Magic Counter. Now, how many cards do you have in your hand at a random time in the game?

Early game, you have 5-6 cards, so if you discard them all, plus the one you all ready had by the Synchro Summon, that's 3000-3500 damage.
Mid game, you have 3-4 cards, so that's 2000-2500, and late game, you're probably only looking at 1-3, so that could be 1000-2000.

Why is this a Secret Rare some people are wondering? 2200 attack and a Level 6 isn't anything special, but Tempest Magician can end games.
She can get you out of a spot, and win you a game.

The best Spellcaster Synchro, it has decent stats of 2200 and 1400. Not enought to even win a battle with Celestia, but enough to wail on the little guys in the game. Every time you discard a card from your hand with it's effect, you can put a Spell Counter on the card and you can remove any number of counters to inflict 500 damage to an opponent.

It does already come with a counter when it is summoned, but 500 damage on it's own is not much. This is a late game card. You basically play this if you are deadlocked and cannot really do anything. So you burn your cards to burn your opponent.

This is rather nice when combined with other Spellcaster/Burn support and it can also combo nicely with Secret Village of the Spellcasters. However, she is just far too weak to really do anything in battle and her effect is not really useful in most situations, but in teh right deck, she can certainly do some damage.

Secret Rare

Tempest Magician is a new Synchro from Crossroads with a cool brun effect. First you need the usually tuner, but after that the other monster has to be a Spellcaster for the Synchro Summon. When it is Synchro Summoned, place 1 Spell Counter on it. Also you can discard cards to put Spell Counters on monster you have.

Breaker and Dark Red Enchanter will get a boost to destroy Spells or Traps and discard cards from the opponent's hand. If not remove all Spell Counters on the field to do 500 for each counter removed. Its great when someone is stalling or using Toon Table of Contents for the Spell Counters when they have Magical Examplar or something that continuously gets counters. Its a great card, but only for Spellcasters.

Anteaus Tempest Magician

I can see this card making Spellcaster Burn a great build, I really can. It has a very interesting effect, and one that's really either "go big or go home." It's going to make some waves in the coming months I think, because it's amazing. With the right draw engine and the right type of deck, this card could take the game by storm. I might have to construct a burn build out of this...

Secret Rare

Todayʼs card up for review is Tempest Magician. This card is pretty sweet, and if you can summon him, he should be a game ender. I personally donʼt like him too much, but its clear to see that he is good. Almost every deck uses Solemn Judgment now. With that being said, Tempestʼs burn effect can come in handy. Only downside is how you have to do the burn damage. You have to put yourself in a hole in card advantage to use it, which is meh. But like I said, if your opponent is low enough in life, its well worth the costs.
