Today we come to Gorz the Emissary of Darkness, a
new card from the Dark Legends reprint set, who is
also a Secret Rare. Now, Gorz is a Level 7 Fiend, of
the Dark attribute with 2700 attack and 2500
defense.
Both are good, but 2800 attack would be a bit more
competitive.
When you take damage from a card your opponent
controls, you can Special Summon this card from your
Hand. Then activate one of the following effects
depending on the type of damage you received.
Battle Damage:
Special Summon one "Emissary of Darkness Token"
(Fairy type/Light/Level
7/Atk?/Def?) It's attack and defense are each equal
to the amount of damage you took.
Effect Damage:
Inflict Damage equal to your opponent equal to the
amount of damage you took.
As for Battle Damage, you could potentially have
this monster, and another powerful token, after some
terrible Field clearing measure by Stardust Dragon,
Black Rose Dragon, Dark Armed Dragon, whatever you
like. We don't have a whole lot of effect damage
right now, but a reflected burn effect is nice too.
Sadly, on his own, meaning tributing two monsters
just for a 2700 attack powerhouse with no effect on
his own isn't so great. If you are playing Fiends
and get a hold of one, go ahead and give him a try.

Gorz, the Emissary of
Darkness
WOW this guy is good. Everyone knows that, and every
possible use for this guy already got done to death
on the forums when he came out, but for those who
don't regularly visit the forums, here is a quick
summary. 2700 ATK and 2500 DEF are really good, able
to beat on almost anything while being rather
balanced offensively and defensively When you have
no cards on the field and you get attacked, you can
Special Summon Gorz and a token that is the same as
the damage you took.
The second effect is if you take burn damage, you
burn your opponent for the same amount and then
Special Summon Gorz.
There are games that are won and lost off of Gorz. I
really don't feel like going to much into depth
about him, he's big, mean and wins games as well as
being a DARK monster Kind of a recipe for a great
card huh?

Today's card up for review is Gorz, The Emissary
Of Darkness. It should be known off the bat how
powerful this card is. Amazing effect and stats.
This card basically makes your opponent think again
if they want to overextend their board or try to go
for game. I will be one of the first to say this:
Gorz is pretty overrated. I mean sure his effect is
amazing, and can help you win the game, but it has
not stopped me from winning a game as of yet.
Sometimes it is obvious that your opponent has Gorz
in his/her hand. Something simple like starting the
game off and simply ending. Or even something weird
that the deck type you are facing doesn't usually
do. These would include summoning something and no
backrows. He is still near staple in every deck, but
he can be beaten. Just play your hands correctly and
think turns ahead sometimes and you will be okay!

Secret Rare
One of the most wanted cards everyone wanted for the
longest time and its out for everyone to have. Gorz
works when someone has a completely open field and
they take battle damage or effect damage. Nine times
out of ten it will be battle damage. Gorz will be
summoned to the field and produce a token equal to
the battle damage you took, both ATK and DEF or give
the same amount of effect damage back to the
opposing player.
It has 2700 ATK, which can get over a lot of things,
but there still other monster stronger than it. Now
the opponent has to choose which one of theit
monsters attacks first instead of just pushing them
both in front of you. It is better to summon Gorz
after the biggest monster has attack because the
token can just double knock out with the big monster
and Gorz attacks the small monster, The token also
helps in many ways by being tributable for either
for monarchs or Enemy Controller. This card really
helps when playing against Lightsworn and Dark Armed
Dragon Decks.

Gorz the Emissary of
Darkness
Absolutely amazing in every way, shape and form. All
you need is an empty field, and you're golden. It
can still be Normal Summoned, but who would want to
do that? It's 2700 ATK is nothing to scoff at, and
his effects really are amazing. If you get dinged
for 2500, you can either bring out a 2500/2500 token
or dish out 2500 damage to your opponent, should you
be able to summon him. Now, he's not really
splashable, and he really deserves his own build,
but other than that he's amazing.
