Miracle Fertilizer
[Continuous Spell Card]
Once per turn, you can select 1 Plant-Type monster
from your Graveyard and Special Summon it. You
cannot Normal Summon or Set the turn you Special
Summon a monster with this effect. If a monster
Special Summoned by this effect is removed from the

All right, we have a very
abbreviated week, just reviewing cards today and
tomorrow, and we start with Miracle Fertilizer, an
interesting Continuous Magic Card.
At first glance, Miracle Fertilizer does look quite
miraculous. A card that allows you to select one
Plant-type monster from your Graveyard once per
turn. However, as we continue reading, you cannot
Normal Summon or Set another monster if you activate
this effect.
Furthermore, if a monster Special Summoned by this
card is removed from this card, Miracle Fertilizer
is destroyed. It tries to be good, and it certainly
isn't terrible, but even in a Plant Deck, I'd
probably stay clear.

Rare
Plants have their own themed banned like cards,
Miracle Fertilizer is like the Premature Burial for
plants. Most of the time you'll want to special
summon something from the graveyard and its either
going to be a Lonefire Blossom or a Tytannial. Its
good because you won't be using anything other than
a normal summon for this card. No discard or life
point cost is involved.
Although unlike Premature Burial, if a monster is
destroyed, then Miracle Fertilizer is also
destroyed. Anything brought back by Miracle
Fertilizer will stay if it is destroyed. Its also a
plus if you can get a 2nd monster from the grave.
Since possibly you could special summon Tytannial
from the grave, it can protect anything just as long
as you can keep bringing plants from the grave. This
should be in all plant decks.

Miracle Fertilizer
The ability to Special Summon from the graveyard is
a great effect, and all this does is give Plant
decks that much more power. However, it's main
drawback is the fact that even though it's a Special
Summon, it's still taking your Normal Summon slot by
not allowing you to Normal Summon when you use its
effect. Overall, I think that this card is an
excellent addition to any Plant deck, but don't be
running it in too many kinds of multiples. As usual
with these types of cards, outside a Plant deck this
card is useless.
This is one of the more successful routes that the
revival card has taken in the game so far. WE saw a
very similar card for Cloudians in Summon Cloud, but
Fertilizer is just better because Plants are better
cards than Cloudians ever were. Basically, you can
Special Summon a Plant from your graveyard once each
turn, but as a cost, you cannot Normal Summon or set
during the turn. Like all newer revival cards, if
Fertilizer is destroyed you lose the monsters that
were summoned with it and if a monster that
Fertilizer summoned dies, then the whole shebang
goes with it.
This card fits very well into the new style of
Plants that Jerome McHale recently put on a good
show with. The old style needed Gigaplant to be
Normal Summoned in order for it to get the massive
amounts of Special Summoning that it would need to
win. Right now, Tytannial is a far better pick for
Plant decks than Gigaplant. This card not only
provides monsters for aggression, but also for costs
of effects like Tytannial, Pollinosis and Fragrance
Storm.
Right now it is hard to replace our much maligned
Premature Burial, but Miracle Fertilizer is a pretty
good substitute for it in a Plant deck, and will
often get you out of horrendous spots.
