Friday
Closing this week, we come to Darknight Parshath, a
monster who has stats that mimic a Fairy that you
might know, Airknight Parshath, so we'll ignore
certain stats, but point out things like being a
Dark monster and a Fiend.
Now, Darknight doesn't have trample, as Airknight
does, which is the biggest downfall here. However,
you can remove a Dark monster from your Graveyard
after this card destroys an opponent's monster, so
you can Draw one card from your Deck.
Secondly, this card gains 100 attack for each Dark
monster in your Graveyard. So, if you manage to play
this guy mid to late game, assuming you have at
least five Dark monsters in your Graveyard, you have
2400 attack, which is enough.
This guy works well in about any of the new Dark
decks you can create from this set, as well with
Dark Armed Dragon. If you haven't summoned Dark
Armed Dragon, just keep removing monsters until you
get to having only three in your Graveyard.
So many of these cards in this set work so well
together, it's very nice to see :)
Ratings:
Traditional: 2.75/5 Not the best of cards here.
Advanced: 3.75/5 For reasons listed above.

Darknight Parshath
Airknight's evil twin. He is not quite as good as
his good counterpart, but still worth playing. He
cannot be Special Summoned, but he gains 100 ATK for
every DARK monster in your graveyard, an ability
that was Airknight's biggest weakness. With all of
the DARK monsters that you are putting in your
grave, he should have a rather large ATK when all is
said and done. It also wouldn't be Parshath if he
didn't have some sort of Draw ability. You remove
from play a DARK monster to draw a card when he
destroys a monster in battle. This is a great
ability, and rather cheap. You pump up Doomsday
Horror with this effect as well, as well as setting
up plays with the other DARK monsters and Dimension
Fusion.
He is a tribute, but that can easily be worked
around with Reasoning and Monster Gate. Nobody calls
a 5 on Reasoning, and that can be your ticket to
victory. In fact I expect this card to make people
think twice about the number that they call for
reasoning in Rainbow Dark OTK and Diamond Dude
Turbo.

Darknight Parsath
Finishing off the week, what we have for you
today is the dark, sinister version of Airknight
Parsath, but better! It may be a Level 5
monster, but there are many ways to summon it
besides Normal summon. Here are the pros about
Darknight Parsath and how you should or might
use him in future duels/decks:
- Works with Allure of Darkness and Dark-Theme
Decks since it is a Dark monster.
- A Decent 1900 ATK/1400 DEF whose ATK
increases by 100 for each Dark monster so if you
have 6 or more Dark monsters in your graveyard,
this card can take down Monarchs and Sacred
Phoenix as well as anything with a lower ATK
than Darknight Parsath.
- When this card destroys a monster, you can
remove a Dark monster (Highly suggested D.D.
Scout Plane so it returns to field at end phase
OR remove a powerful Dark monster and use Escape
from the DIfferent DImension or D.D.M. -
Different DImension Master to special summon the
removed monster) to draw 1 card from your deck.
Nifty ability.
This card should see play right now and
probably can become very powerful for a Level 5
monster. If you have any strategies or deck
ideas around this card, feel free to tell me
them at
pathoon@aol.com and I might post an article
about them if I think they are worthy and good
to talk about.
Traditional: 1.25/5
Advanced: 3.75/5
Art: 3.75/5 (The Dark version
of Airknight Parsath with his upper body
attached to the lower half of a horse? Weird yet
awesome!)
Thanks for everything!

Friday - Darknight Parshath
Today we'll be reviewing yet another DARK version of
a card that we're already familiar with, "Darknight
Parshath." As you could probably tell, Darknight
Parshath is the "Dark" version of the 5-star Fairy
monster Airknight Parshath. The fairy is very
useful, providing the user with draw power and a
piercing effect. It was fairly good and many
competitive decks saw it when it was first released.
However, Darknight Parshath is a bit less helpful.
It still allows you to draw a card when you destroy
a monster, but only by removing 1 DARK monster from
play in your Graveyard. Well, chances are, if you're
running this card, you'll have a couple of DARK
monsters already in the Graveyard, powering up the
attack points and being able to draw. But, the
downside to this wonderful effect is that you have
to DESTROY a monster (that means in battle) to be
able to draw a card. Unlike the original Parshath,
Darknight Parshath's effect can't be activated when
you attack directly, which is a slight downfall. I
must recognize the fact that this card gives you a
choice of whether or not you want to draw a card,
which prevents those terrible occurences in which
you want to attack but you have no more card left in
the deck. In conclusion, Darknight Parshath is
pretty useful in a DARK deck that is made
incorporating the new DARK monsters found in Phantom
of Darkness, but I still think that it won't come in
too handy.
Traditional: 2/5 - I can actually see this being a
little useful in this format.
Advanced: 1/5 |

ok,
todays is the dark form of airknight parshath.
not so good. you have to remove cards in the grave
from play to draw, and while that's still a +1, a
dark rftdd deck should only remove with beginning of
the end to massive swarm. just not good enough
2/5 all.
I'd run normal parshath before this in a dark deck.

Friday:
Yay! Friday is here. Time to party with your posse
and get crunk! Before you do these however please
just take a look at the card Darknight Parshath.
With 1900 attack and ability to draw it seems like
it is the exact same thing as Airknight Parshath but
just dark. Well it is and it isn’t. It is very lucky
that it’s not, too, because no one plays that card
anymore. It gains 100 attack for every dark monster
in your graveyard, but at the same time needs to
remove a monster in your graveyard to draw that card
you valiantly won in your battle. It works great
with the new escape from the dark dimension, strike
ninja variants (how many times have I talked about
that deck this week? Lol I am sorry I just love it
that much), and other decks that you might need some
draw power, and some way to remove cards from the
graveyard. Works great with DD Scout Plane, Dark
Grepher, and Armageddon knight, but so does a lot of
cards.
The only downfall is its weak attack because you
won’t usually have 6 dark monsters in your graveyard
when you summon it, so any monarch can beat the snot
out of it.
This shouldn’t stop you from playing it though
because it is very combo-oriented, fun, and a great
draw engine. Really its strengths beat his flaws in
every shape and form. The main problem that you have
to watch for is his own self detonating effect that
might leave you with no cards in your graveyard to
premature with, or making this card weak as a Gemini
elf.
Rating:
Tradition: N/A
Advance: 3/5 Very Playable, but more fun than
competitive. |
