Tuesday
Dark Armed Dragon has the same stats as Armed Dragon
Level 7. 2800 attack and 1000 defense points, as
well as being a Dragon, but he is obviously of the
Wind Attribute.
Anyway, here, instead of tributing or using Level
up, you can Special Summon this card simply by
having exactly three Dark monsters in your
Graveyard. Then, by removing a Dark monster from
your Graveyard, you can destroy one card on the
Field.
Wow...that's potential for instant card advantage
EVERY turn. Granted, he can't be Special Summoned
aside from the way mentioned, but that's pretty
good. You could certainly do a Dark monster deck
that focuses around this guy with some beatdown or
something.
He's stronger than the Monarchs, and arguably easier
to summon. Just be sure you can protect him, as he
is still vulnerable to all your favorite monster
killers and Magic and Trap cards.
Ratings:
Traditional: 3/5 Dark monsters are found a plenty
here, and his effect could destroy either envoy.
Being a Dragon doesn't actually hurt him.
Advanced: 4/5 2800 attack and potential destruction
every turn?
Beautiful.

Dark Armed Dragon
Well we just finished up our top cards of 2007.
Light and Darkness Dragon got top honors in that if
you didn't know already. However the first set of
the new year we already have a card that made the
Japanese drop all their LaDD's and make this card
easily the best in their game. It was a rare in
Japan, so I have some pretty hard feelings at UDE
about this. This IS the best card in Yu-Gi-Oh! You
remove from play a DARK monster in your grave to
destroy ANY card on the field. He can only be
Special Summoned ONLY when you have EXACTLY 3 DARK
monsters in the graveyard. Wait, he's a Special
Summon? Yeah that's right, no more awkward tributing
to get your Uberdragon on the field.
This card works beautifully with other cards from
PTDN, like Dark Creator, Allure of Darkness and
Armageddon Knight. With Armageddon Knight and our
newly minted Dark Grepher, getting off DAD is easier
than summoning Stratos. He will usually clear the
field for a devastating Dark Creator or Dimension
Fusion for the win, but can also use his effect to
destroy your own Yubel in order to bring out Terror
Incarnate. You would kill your own Dragon, but that
just loads up the graveyard for more DARK monster
tricks.
Just in case you didn't know, yes, they made this
card a Secret Rare in the rest of the world. I am
now pouting because of this fact. I probably won't
eat for the next month or so so that I can buy
enough PTDN boxes to secure a playset of these. Then
watch as it is banned/limited in the next list. Oh
well, at least the rest of this set is just as good
as DAD!

Dark
Armed Dragon
Well I may have missed yesterday's review, but I
wouldn't miss this one for the world.
Dark Armed Dragon is one of my favorite new monsters
in the PTDN. It's a solid 2800 ATKer nomi monster
that you can easily build a deck around. He's the
reason Soul Release will begin to see play again.
- The first effect is one of those not bad, but not
good either things.
- The second effect is the biggest obstacle of
course. Having exactly three Dark Monsters in the
graveyard is fairly easy within the first five to
ten moves of the game, but after that it gets much
more difficult. Late game, short of a Soul Release
or two, you're going to have a lot of trouble
keeping exactly three in there.
- The third effect is the payoff. It's certainly a
good one too, since you can remove all three
monsters in the GY to wipe out three cards on the
field. If done right, this basically equals up to a
free 2800 direct hit. I can see entire decks being
based around this and Megamorph.
DAD is a monster that is definitely going to shape
the metagame considerably. I imagine quite a few top
16's will feature this monster. The biggest
disadvantage is going to be your graveyard, so once
someone figures out how to effectively abuse that, I
expect to see three copies in this in some very
successful decks.
Traditional: 2.5/5 since it can work, but Chaos is
still much much more dominant.
Advanced: 4/5

Dark Armed Dragon
I love this card to death no matter what and
I will do anything to get this card in my hands.
This is the most expensive card in Phantom
Darkness as a Secret Rare going for about
$250-300 on most websites. There is a very good
reason why this card went from Rare to Secret
Rare during the change of rarity of cards. This
card is a Level 7 Dark Dragon with 2800 ATK and
a low 1000 DEF who can't be normal summoned or
set and can only be special summoned when there
are exactly 3 DARK monsters in your graveyard.
This may prove a tricky task, but fortunately
there are other cards in the set and out of
Phantom Darkness that can remove/Add DARK
monsters for you to get this giga-mega cannon
out. The best part about this card is that you
can remove 1 DARK monster from your graveyard to
destroy any card on the field! Now that is
ultimately killer since there is no limit on how
many times you can use his effect on just one
turn. This card can create some future OTKs and
if you encounter this card on the field, chances
are that you'll most likely suffer a terrible
defeat. Good luck searching for this guy as I
WILL get my copy in a Phantom Darkness box I
plan on buying at a local hobby league.
Traditional: 4.75/5
Advanced: 5/5 (Deadly in the
ultimate Dark Deck)

Tuesday - Dark Armed Dragon
Dark Armed Dragon, when you first look at it, is a
pretty good card to use with Reasoning if you didn't
see his effect. He can't be normal summoned or set,
and can only be special summoned by having exactly 3
Dark monsters in your Graveyard. Now, at this point
I would go straight to selling this card, not using
it. Having exactly 3 Dark monsters in your Graveyard
isn't very easy to have at the same time that you
draw this card, and with all the D.D. Crows around,
this card won't get anywhere even if you DO meet the
requirement. Even if you do get this card out,
though, the effect isn't all that great, since it
doesn't get any protection at all from effects and
has a pretty hard cost to activate the effect. I
think that pretty much sums it up this time.
Traditional: 1.1/5 - DARK, but not good enough.
Advanced: 1/5 - Nothing works good with this card in
this format.
Art: 3/5 - Hard to figure out what's what. But when
you do, it's cool. |

todays is dark armed dragon.
this card is awesome. special summon it and use
priority to blast a monster, then attack for a +2!
free advantage every turn, WOW. the only drawback is
that you cant have more dark monsters in the grave
to summon it.
