Thursday
Dark Hours is a mirror of Hours Dragon Level 8, so
to speak, with stats to match. 3000 attack, which is
excellent, and 1800 defense (meh), with the Dark
Attribute...go figure.
Anyway, while Hours negate and destroys Magic cards,
Dark Hours only allows you to Special Summon a Level
4 Dark monster from your Graveyard. Dark Armed
Dragon tried to be great...and was. Dark Hours
tried...and failed.
If you're playing Hours at all...stay with the Level
set, as they are far superior. Sorry folks.

Dark Horus
Probably the worst of the Dark monsters from PTDN.
He cannot be Special Summoned by his own effect and
his effect is dependant on a spell card being
activated on your opponent's turn. If I hazarded a
guess, that spell would usually destroy Horus
himself and leave you with nothing. You can activate
a Quickplay Spell in order to activate his effect,
but that is not going to happen too often. You do
get a level 4 DARK monster from your graveyard for
your trouble, but you WANT them there to bring out
Dark Creator and Dark Armed Dragon.
I loved the original Horus, and this is one new
incarnation that is not better than the original.
Traditional-1/5
Advanced-2/5 (because it looks so cool) |

Dark HORUS
Not bad card since you can special summon a
Level 4 or lower Dark monster from your
graveyard if a spell is activated on your
opponent's turn. It has 3000 ATK/1800 DEF, is
Dark, a Dragon-Type, and can be comboed (Not a
real word) with Trade-In. To activate HORUS'
effect as many times anytime you wish, you
should pack multiple Quick-Play Spells such as
Fires of Doomsday, Scapegoat, Enemy Controller,
MST, etc. Once you have that down, you can
special summon all kinds of monsters such as
Armageddon Knight to dump other Dark monsters
into your graveyard, D-Hero Disk Commander to
get 2 free cards into your hand, etc. Decent
card for a Dark-Theme deck, but it isn't as
strong and mighty as the Dark Creator.
Traditional: 1.25/5 (Only
because it's Dark)

Thursday (CHINESE NEW YEAR! or korean, vietnam,
whoever uses lunar calendar) - Dark Horus
Today we take a look at another dark version of a
familiar card, Horus. We know that the normal Horus
is pretty devastating when brought to the field,
because it renders all the opponent's spell cards
useless. The old Horus was pretty annoying to get
out, but wasn't too difficult. Dark Horus is easy to
normal summon and special summon, but its effect
isn't that great anymore. Whenever there's a spell
card activated during the opponent's main phase
(both), you can special summon one level 4 DARK
monster onto your side of the field. Well, this
isn't a new type of effect since numerous other
cards from this set also use this type of effect.
The bad part is that the negation part left.
Compared to the old Horus, Dark Horus is about three
times worse.
Aside from being worse than the original Horus, Dark
Horus also has its good parts. Guys, keep in mind
the possibilities if Dark Horus read "special summon
one level four or LOWER monster from your
Graveyard." There would be so many different
competitive cards that could be special summoned by
this card, and it might even become an extremely
useful card. Being restricted to only level four,
though, the monster isn't too great anymore. It can
still bring back exceptional cards like Snipe Hunter
and Don Zaloog, but the full potential isn't there.
Traditional: 2/5 - I'm not too sure how this will
turn out.
Advanced: 3/5
Art: 2/5 - A little plain, don't you think? It's
just Horus, just black. |
