We open our week after a week off with Skreech, a
Secret Rare from Gladiator's Assault. Skreech is a
Level 4, Water monster, with 1500 attack (meh) and
400 defense (terrible.)
When destroyed by Battle, you select 2 Water
monsters from your Deck and send them to your
Graveyard. This isn't terrible, but it seems like a
bit too much work just to dump a couple of monsters.
Granted, you could dump a Treeborn Frog or
something, and something powerful to revive
later...(Levia?), but I don't see you using this
paltry monster just for a couple of dumps. Sorry
folks, I don't see this guy really having a home,
even in the Water deck.

Skreech
This is actually a decent card for the WATER theme.
when it dies in battle you discard two WATER
monsters from your deck to the graveyard. This works
well with Treeborn Frog and the almost forgotten
Dragon Ice and could be a hot pick if more graveyard
friendly WATER cards come out. As it stands now,
Foolish Burial is better to get Treeborn in the
grave.

Skreech
Ah, nothing like a nice new card after a full weeks
break. But right to the card.
Skreech a four star (good), 1500 ATK (Not good),
Water (good again) with a rather nifty effect. I
personally love this card because it makes so many
deck types viable.
- The effect of seraching two Water monsters from
your deck and send them to graveyard does sound
pretty terrible. Until you realise that Treeborn
Frog and Sinister Serpent are both water monsters.
It also adds fuel for Frost and Flame Dragon and
Fenrir. Basically this effect lets you set up combos
that can be game-ending.
The biggest downfall is that this was released with
Foolish Burial, which does the same thing only
better, since it's a spell. The different is the
number of monsters yanked. Still, I would put
Skreech in a deck focused around Frost and Flame
Dragon before Foolish Burial. It's just that good.
Traditional: 2/5 it allows you to grab Sinister
Serpent and Treeborn Frog
Advanced: 3/5 It makes a couple different decks
actually viable (Des Frogs anyone?)

Skreech
Reptile/WATER Level 4
1500 ATK/400 DEF
When this card is destroyed by battle, select 2
WATER monsters from your Deck and send them to the
Graveyard.
Skreech = Foolish Burial x 2 for WATER.
Well…with Macro Cosmos competing with Perfect Circle
+ Light and Darkness Dragon to be tier 1, Skreech’s
requirement, without “and sent to the Graveyard”
part, is relieved. However, one of the few WATER
monsters called Treeborn Frog is useless in RFG
area. So we have a paradox?
Of many useful WATER monsters, there are quite a few
reasons to dump WATER monsters for:
*Treeborn Frog
*Elemental Hero Ocean (should you have any Ocean on
your side)
*Fenrir & Lekunga (Skreech + 2 WATER monsters), as
well as Frost and Flame Dragon
*Pot of Avarice…
*Salvage
Skreech’s effect requires a -1 card advantage to
activate, but concept of card advantage is becoming
thinner and thinner, as triple Dark Bribes often
help more than they hurt. Creature Swap may work,
but depending on the activation timing of the effect
(similar to Apprentice Magician), opponent may
receive the effect instead. Seeing the wording
however (seems like you need 2 WATER or you cannot
use the effect at all), unless the opponent uses
Treeborn Frog and Mobius the Frost Monarch (or
Ocean, or Crystal Seer…), you will likely be the
only player benefiting from such an effect.
Even though card advantage is less important as it
did few formats ago, in my opinion, there is no good
reason to give up field presence and card advantage
so easily to manipulate Graveyard for a restrictive
Attribute.
Traditional: 1.2/5 After 15+ staples, can you find
enough slots for 1 or 2 copies of Skreech and other
WATER monsters?
Advanced: 3/5 A lot more potential…
