Lyla, Lightsworn Sorceress is our
card today, and one I will try to get to an article
for later on in the week. It's a card some people seem to have mixed
feelings about, and a solid card for you
Counter-Fairy players.
Anyway, Lyla has 1700 atk
(respectable) and a miserable 200 defense, who is
also a Light Spellcaster and Level 4.Anyway, once per turn, by changing the Battle
Position of this card from attack to defense, you
can destroy one Magic or Trap card your opponent
controls.
That, in itself, is almost enough
to play this card.I don't want to get into Counter-Fairy
builds/combos here, as those of you who play those
all ready wouldn't get anything from that.Lyla does have some other combos and
potential in a couple of lockdown Decks.(More in the article later this week)
Some people find the Deck
destruction the Lightsworn monsters have to be a
liability, which it can be.However, you might want things in the
Graveyard for later, and the Lightsworn monsters are
designed to be a quick and hard-hitting Deck.
Ratings:
Traditional:2.75/5Not bad, but cards do the job better. She is Light, however.(How well does Counter-Fairy work in
Traditional?)
Advanced:4/5Quite solid for some decks, as mentioned,
reliable Magic/Trap destruction,
and respectable attack.

Tuesday: Lyla, Lightsworn Sorceress
This is going to be a staple in Lightsworn decks.
1700 ATK is enough to take out a fair number of
non-Tribute monsters, and being able to kill an M/T
with it is huge, and can set up for many big plays.
The 200 DEF means it'll get destroyed easily, but
odds are you don't intend on this staying out on the
field that long, and that's one more Lightsworn
closer you are to summoning Judgment Dragon.
The 3-card mill is also pretty powerful, so assuming
you do keep it around for a turn, it'll mill enough
on its own to get JD playable if you hit Lightsworns
and it dies a turn after.
5/5 for the theme deck
General Zorpa
Lyla, Lightsworn Sorceress
Well here is the best of the Lightsworn monsters. I
kid you not. You can flip her to clear the way for
any attack, not even in solely a Lightsworn deck.
Sending cards to the graveyard in the end phase is a
bit rough, but the DARK deck doesn't mind. In fact
she is likely to be the forerunner in a DARK/LIGHT
hybrid, taking advantage of 8 draw spells and
burning through your deck with Lightsworn and then
closing with DARK cards.
She even has a decent ATK strength, but her DEF is
nothing pretty much, and as her effect will switch
her to defense, that doesn't say much about Lyla's
survivability. However, in a Lightsworn deck, maybe
you need that last Lightsworn in teh grave to bring
out Judgment Dragon, so her death is not an
insufferable loss. A 3 of in Lightsworn, and
probably splashed elsewhere as a replacement for
Breaker.

Pwii
[insert evil laughter]! FREE AGAIN!!! Oh.
Hi. I'm Yami pwii. I finally escaped, and am
back to ruin his job! [insert evil
laughter]! Anyways, todays card is
lightsworn sorceress.
This card has
great potential with nightmare of labyrinth.
Alone, it's still good, but only for the
lightsworn deck. Personally, I'd run three
of these and nol for mass advantage. But
that's only me.
