Unstable Evolution continues the week, and it's
quite the interesting Magic card, one that some
people really seem to enjoy, and I don't seem to
give a rat's ass about, but maybe I'm all wrong
about the matter.
Unstable Evolution is an Equipment Magic Card that
has a Megamorph type effect. While your Lifepoints
are higher than your opponent's, the original attack
of the equipped monster becomes 2400. No argument
there as for that makes things better, however
temporarily.
Or does it? When (or if) your Lifepoints drop lower
than your opponent's it's original attack becomes
1000, and that's the kick in the pants that makes
this card completely useless...wait, that isn't all.
In this Format, monsters don't stay on the Field
long. With DAD-Teleport, Synchros, Gladiators, and
Zombies all quick hitting and fast appearing, there
just isn't room for a card like this in this Format.

Unstable Evolution
This is an interesting revival of Megamorph. I'm
guessing that Konami wanted to create a card that
could heavily boost ATK to allow a comeback, but not
to the point where it would create massive OTK
potential like Cyber-Stein.
Unlike Megamorph, this could be played in a deck
where the equipped monster could get an ATK boost
even with your LP being lower -- for example, a D.
D. Crow equipped with this suddenly becomes a
beatstick if you have less LP, and still is an
improvement if you end up with more.
I still think it requires a dedicated deck of weak
monsters with great effects to REALLY get the best
use out of this card, but I like it for a few
reasons...the big one being that Solemn is so
heavily played, that this + winning out on a Solemn
Judgment chain will leave you with low LP, but your
opponent also low enough that one copy of this card
can let you press for game on a turn you otherwise
couldn't.
...if nothing else, you've ALSO got the ability to
throw it on an opponent's monster when it's bigger
than yours and can drop it to the point that a
Sangan can bump heads with it.
It's a -1 in some cases, but it's a damn powerful
one.

Hey! It's a bad Megamorph reprint! It is actually
better at being an offensive card than a defensive
one, as half of a lot of monster's ATK is higher
than 1000, making it better than Megmorph in that
regard. 2400 ATK is a lot, but not so much now, if
it made it 2800, you can do some cool stuff with it
and it would be up to snuff with the current game.
As it is, you are better off playing Shrink for ATK
modification and Smashing Ground for monster
destruction, not to mention that this card is an
equip, making it the most vulnerable card type in
the game as monsters generally do not live more than
2 turns and most people would rather spend that
extra card to continue to win the game rather than
do some cute tricks.

Todayʼs card is Unstable Evolution. A cheap
knockoff of Megamorph haha. To be honest, you cannot
use any equip cards in this meta right now. You have
to use stuff that hits fast or can help clear the
board quickly. The bad thing with this is that most
cards being used right now is over 1000 to begin
with. Problem with that is, if you get your life
higher that your opponents, this card will devastate
you. I would honestly just say to stick with
Megamorph if you need an attack boost.

Unstable Evolution is better when it is equipped to
a smaller monster. Megamorph does a similar thing,
but it doesn't have a set attack power. Anything
above 1200 ATK, Megamoprh is a better option. When
its 1200 ATK, it really doesn't matter and anything
below is a plus. It is a great card for players who
like to play Ben Kei decks and for those who utilize
those 300 ATK and 500 ATK direct attacking monsters.
It won't see much tournament play, but it is a
surprise when someone does something crazy with it
at a local.

Unstable evolution is
kind of a mini-megamorph. Megamorph is awesome in my
opinion, and hardly ever a dead draw. Why? You can
equip it to your opponent's monster too. Therefore
it rocks. BUT, we are not talking about Megamorph.
We are talking about its crappy-watered-down
version. I would not advise running this in more
then two's anyways, so this is basically useless
unless a special deck is built around it.
