Psychic Overload is another interesting Trap Card,
and an Ultra Rare, which seems semi-appropriate. In
short, Psychic Overload is essentially a modified
Pot of Avarice, specifically for Psychic and Tuner
players.
It has a smaller cost than Pot of Avarice, as you
only need to return three Psychic-type monsters from
your Graveyard and add them to your Deck. Then, you
get to Draw two cards. In short, for you Tuner
players, run two, and even side the third if you are
feeling you actually need the extra Draw Power.
Ratings:
Traditional: 2/5 Not needed as much, even in the
Deck, as you have the other power Draw Options.
Advanced: 4/5 Definitely a valued Draw Card for a
powerful Deck type.

Psychic Overload
Meet a superior and inferior version of Pot of
Avarice! The pros, you only have to have 3 monsters
to send back, you can chain to Monster Reborn or D.D.
Crow. Cons, it is a trap card and needs to be set
for a turn when you might need it's effect NOW, it
will only work with a Psychic heavy deck. Well there
we go and we end up a dead even exchange. That is
not a good thing for a card. It needs to have at
least one pro over a con before it sees play.
I can definitely see this card being played in a
solid Psychic deck, as it would make up for the loss
of the Destiny Hero Engine that is so popular at all
times. it is a little bit slower than we are used to
and a little bit more conditional, but it is hardly
difficult to get to 3 Psychics in the graveyard. Pot
of Avarice is not played anymore both because it is
difficult to set up it's effect and you generally do
not want to put cards back into your deck that you
just spent the last 1/4 of the game putting in
there.
As I said before, this card has merit, but it is
very hard to use effectively in a format that is so
fast. If it slows down (ie Malicious is banned) then
we will see an aggressive Psychic/Synchro/Monarch
deck that could rise up and challenge all other
decks, but until this time I am going to close the
discussion on this card with a "Is too slow for
competitive play" stamp.

Today’s card up for review is Psychic Overload.
This card could see some potential after the next
set is released. So you add crutial Psychics back
into your deck and draw off it? I like the sound of
that. I am really hoping that America gets some
cool Tcg only Psychics, then the deck can be molded
together.

Psychic Overload is the Psychic's themed Pot of
Avarice, but it is in trap form. Since this is a
Trap Card, this can be chained to a Dust Tornado or
any type of S/T destruction. This card should be ran
in threes because of how easy it is to fil up the
grave yard. Psychics won't see much tournament play
until they get their big guy that puts them over the
top.

This card rocks. I
know I've said it a lot and been wrong a lot, but
this really rocks. The only danger is running it in
threes because then it'll probably end up as a dead
draw. But that probably isn't in danger of
happening if you run two because of synchros.
