Dark Paladin

Thursday

Goyo Guardian is a Level 6 Synchro monster of the Earth attribute with 2800 attack (incredible for Level 6) and 2000 defense (haven't we covered that all ready) who is of the Warrior type of monsters.

Goyo Guardian is Synchro Summoned with one Tuner and one or more non-Tuner type monsters.  When this card destroys an opponent's monster and sends it to the Graveyard, you can Special Summon that monster to your side of the Field in face-up defense position.

I really like that effect.  Those monsters can be used for tribute for various reasons, or simply as additional protection for you.  Honestly, he isn't the most useful of the Synchro monsters, but he isn't terrible.

Goyo Guardian

...this guy is just ridiculous.

Lv. 6 Synchro = a Lv. 2 tuner + a random beatstick.  Emergency Teleport + almost ANY non-tribute monster in a deck will bring this guy out.  2,800 ATK beats out Stardust, among other monsters, and if that isn't sick enough, steals the monster it destroys, keeping it out of your opponent's Graveyard and giving the opponent another monster to worry about.

Imagine your opponent having a Stardust out, and being able to get Goyo out and steal their Stardust away!  He knocks out everything short of Heraklinos/Judgment Dragon, and there are other Synchros that are there for raw attack power.

There's a reason this thing's $30 and people are drooling waiting for the Goyo Guardian tin to come out.  Expect to see this card hit the table at many an SJC in the near future.

General Zorpa Goyo Guardian

This is easily the most popular Synchro monster. At level 6 and 2800 ATK he is a force to be reckoned with. He will kill just about anything except for Heraklinos and Judgment Dragon. Then he gets the bonus effect, When he kills something, it is Special Summoned to your side of the field in defense position, kind of like Red Moon Baby. Major plays have been made with this card, as it is the work horse for most Synchro oriented decks.

The effect is actually just a bonus, but if you can kill a Gyzarus with it, then you pretty much have won the game. You nuke their field and then proceed to my favorite phase, the ownage phase. Killing Stratos is just as good, as you can then search for a Hero of your own. But with this guy it is all about the early game domination. A mid game hit with this guy is almost certain victory, as an opponent will likely have wasted removal options and cannot really fight back.

The ease with his summoning is also a great thing. A level 4 monster and a level 2 Tuner are easy to come by, as both Jutte Fighter and Krebons both are level 2 and are great on their own, with being a Tuner as kind of something extra. I can easily summon 3 Goyo Guardian in one game, but there is a problem as I only have one. But that problem is about to become moot, as he is coming out in a tin, just like Red Dragon Archfiend, Nitro Warrior and Stardust Dragon.

So like with Stardust Dragon, expect to face down hordes of these cards at any competitive tournament around the country
and especially at Regionals and Shonen Jumps.

Todayʼs card up for review is Goyo Guardian, the big daddy of them all in my opinion. Sure this guy had a load of hype prior to the release of the set, but for good reason. Anything this guy kills you have the option to summon to your field. This effect is of course devastating. Not many stuff will be bigger than 2800 attack, so you can steal practically anything with this guy! If you wanan take something bigger than him, just use book of moon or enemy controller.

I highly advise you get 3 of this card. Lucky this week, this card is being released in a tin. This information has been under the radar, so this news may be new to some of you. It is an exclusive at Toyʼs R Us only though!

Goyo Cuardian is perhaps the most talked about Synchro monster. This card is just amazing. Its only level 6, but boasts 2800 ATK points and a devestating effect. Being level six allows for him to be synchro summoned a bit more eaisly than his level 8 counterparts. His ATK is enough to take out Stardust Dragon and enables him to go head to head with Dark Armed. His effect can devestate your opponent easily if he were to take control of something powerful like a monarch, a gyzarus, or even a Stardust Dragon. This card is definitely a must have for the extra deck.

This is the second amazing Synchro this week.

Being level 6 makes it incredibly easy to summon. Jutte Fighter makes it so you can use any level four monster like Stratos, Breaker, Dark Grepher, etc.. You can also use Emergency Teleport for Krebons and turn the used up Breaker or Stratos into this powerhouse.

Having 2800ATK and taking the monsters it kills makes this card absurd. 2800 runs over most things and if you take their Prime Material Dragon with it, you not only get a 2400ATK monster to swing with next turn but you get the protection effects.

Like I said in the Stardust Dragon and Red Dragon Archfiend review, there's really not much reason to not have this in your Extra Deck. Even if you're not using Tuners yourself, you may as well have it on the off chance that you're Creature Swap'd one. If you are using Tuners, this is a more likely than not a staple in your Extra Deck. I can't imagine it wouldn't be but with the new 15 card limit  for the Extra Deck and new cards coming out, that may change.

Woah! Goyo Guardian is just a powerhouse with a low level and a great effect. He is level 6 so you could use Krebons and pretty much any level 4 monster or something like using Junk Syncrhon, a level two monster and Treeborn Frog. The lower level the Synchro monster, the easier it is to summon.

Whenever Goyo Guardian destroys a monster by battle, you get that monster back to your side of the field in defense position. If we would still have Destiny Hero - Disk Commander, the monst common play would be destroying it by battle, bringing it back, draw two, and then finish it off by using their Disk Commander for your Crush Card Virus. The bigger the monster Goyo Guardian destroys, the better for you. He can even bring back other Synchro monsters too.

The one time I actually played him, the only thing I was able to destroy was a Skull Servant. This guy is a must play in every extra deck. Almost nothing can beat him and whatever he destroys is a +2 for you. The only weakness that Goyo has is being weak to Solemn Judgment and Bottomless Trap Hole, but that shouldn't be a problem anyways since people will be negating them with their own Solemn Judgments.
