Inmato, appropriately named as we have some mutant
tomato who has obviously taken on human form, and
further more been imprisoned...for what, I can only
begin to guess....We have a Level 3 Plant type
monster with 1400 attack and 800 defense.
Now, despite being an imprisoned genetically altered
or possibly mutated vegetable, Inmato has a rather
useful ability. When a Plant-type monster (aside
from itself) is targeted by the effect of a Magic or
Trap card your opponent controls, you can tribute
this card to Draw two cards.
This I like...and then I don't...and then I almost
like it again.
Drawing cards is good, tributing a monster to Draw
two cards is great...you don't negate and/or destroy
the Magic or Trap in question, but still.
The problem I see here is what's going to stop your
opponent from simply destroying this card to prevent
you from obtaining the ability?
We are only looking at 1400 attack and 800
defense...it's nothing game-breaking, but still a
neat trick if you can pull it off.

hate it, but I like and hate aspects of it, so just

Yay! They remade Mystic Tomato. Too bad this guy is
not even as strong as his Mystic counterpart. We
have a level 3 1400 ATK DARK Plant. That is already
alright, as the existing Plant support can use him
to the fullest. 1400 ATK is a little low for the
deck, but not really anything major.
The effect is when a Plant monster other than
himself is targeted by an effect, you can tribute
him in order to draw 2 cards. The effect is actually
rather meh. You cannot trigger it yourself, so there
is no way to even get a draw loop going with
Fragrance Storm or something like that. As your
other plant would probably be destroyed as well, you
leave yourself open, and that is not good.
Ideally you will have some Tokens out with this guy,
but that is not necessarily going to happen. Plants
are an Aggro Control deck, so they will not want to
be setting up sub par combos when they have things
like Gigaplant and Tytannial to abuse. I
f this guy NEGATED the effect and drew you 1 card,
it would be at 3 and in every single Plant deck. As
it is, he is still waiting sorrowfully in his cage,
never to be let out.

Sorry I missed
yesterday ... just got back from a weekend trip to
Italy ... yeah, u know how I do ...
anywho ... enough of my garbage ... on to more
interesting stuff ...
Inmato ...
And this little guy IS kinda interesting ... almost
on the level of GOOD! ... first off - his stats.
Everyone loves the Dark attribute. It's always a
plus. 1400 ATK gives him that perfect combination of
being able to fight if it has to and being
searchable by anything that would do any searching.
And every level less than 4 that all these stats are
tied to make the monster all the more better.
He's also a Plant type so he'll have a lot of
support these days and it'll be easy to find him a
home. But does his effect warrant one? ... Well if
another plant type is targeted by an effect - u can
tribute Inmato to draw 2 cards. Everybody loves Draw
Engines. They always will in this game. So anything
that tributes 1 to get 2 is usually worth a try. But
Inmato's flaw comes with the wording that seemed
very much intentional. "Another" plant type monster.
That means it wont work if HE is targeted. 9 times
out of 10 - a targeting effect by your opponent will
either bounce, destroy, or remove a card from play.
So for them to do that to one of your monsters - u
will then lose Inmato as well in order to draw 2
cards. Suddenly your 2 for 1 is now a 2 for 2 ...
not as delicious anymore, is it? :( Giving up field
presence for hand ...
Well it might not be a bad thing entirely ...
whatever your opponent will targeting is most likely
a much bigger threat than Inmato, so he wouldnt be
much good to u afterwards anyway ... Probably a good
deal afterall - to sack him to get 2 new cards. Plus
Dark monsters in the graveyard can often lead to
good things down the line ...
I kinda dig what he's about ... and I'm positive
there's a sick combo in there just BEGGING to be
unleashed with him at the core ...

Inmato, lets first
take a good look at this card. When a Plant-Type
monster is targeted other than Inmato by an
opponents effect, you can tribute Inmato to draw 2
cards. Currently I dont see many cards that target
except for these: Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind,
Mind Control, Brain Control, Gladiator Beast
Murmillo, Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter. There are
probably more that I have forgotten but when you
think about it, Inmato really isn't worth it. It'd
be more worth it if it activated when it was
targeted.

I don't play plants but I guess that would be good
for em you negate a spell or trap and draw 2 cards
thats not bad. On another note now we get to see
what Mystic Tomato might look like if he had a body
and it's clever name with it's picture.
