Alien Ammonite, a card that's craptacular on it's
own, and not even necessarily great for the combos
it's supposed to be able to pull off.
We have a Light attributed Level 1 Reptile-type
Tuner monster with 500 attack and 200 defense...
When Normal Summoned, you can Special Summon 1 Level
4 or lower Alien monster from your Graveyard.
However, the monster selected is destroyed during
the End Phase. While this sounds craptacular, it can
be used in combo for a Synchro Summon for a card
later this week, which is really the only reason you
would play this card, as that monster specifically
requires this Tuner...
Ratings:
You're only playing it for the Synchro Summon, so if
you have all the pieces, play it I suppose.

Alien Ammonite
This is the most important Alien monster that is in
the game. That doesn't mean that I want to keep on
pulling 50 copies of the common rare, but he is very
good. The stats are actually not so good. He has 500
ATK and 200 DEF on a LIGHT Level 1 Reptile Tuner.
Ah, if he were but DARK then the ALien deck could
REALLY take off. His stats are actually average for
a level 1 Tuner, so we shouldn't rag on him for
that, but if you have no way to use his effect, you
are in deep trouble.
Anyway, the effect is that when he is Normal
Summoned, you can Special Summon a level 4 Alien
from your graveyard. It is destroyed at the end of
the turn, but that is hardly noticeable, as you will
almost certainly Synchro Summon out Gol'Gar in order
to blast the field. The effect can also be used
aggroly (is that even an internet word?) in order to
get big beatsticks like Alien Shocktrooper and Alien
Warrior to beat down the opponent and then Synchro
to Gol'Gar.
The major combo with this guy is with Code A Ancient
Ruins and A Cell Incubator. With it, you can
infinitely Synchro Summon if the conditions are met.
Kinda cool huh? You can check out the combo as well
as my version of the Alien deck in my article on
them in my Featured Articles section, I am just too
lazy to cut and paste at the moment.
That all being said, this guy can really turn the
tide. As Gol'Gar is a level 5, you can easily
Synchro him for free and be able to beat down an
opponent easily. His downside effect is even good.
The Alien is destoryed at the end of the turn, which
will put an A Counter on Code A Ancient Ruins so
that you can start to get some combos going off.

Alien Ammonite …
This card … I almost wanna laugh … not cuz it’s bad,
but just because … I dunno … is this even an “Alien”
card? … or just some other card that they just
slapped the name “Alien” on, and changed a few words
in the effect accordingly?
I mean – to find brand new, original, never before
seen effects in Yu-Gi-Oh these days is a lot to ask
for. I get that there’s gonna be a lot of similarity
to many things already released. But even though I
may not LOVE the “Alien” theme of A-counters … that
IS their theme. So let the Alien monsters ALL
reflect said theme. No? Am I wrong?
Ok – I might be … but anyways – Let’s look at the
Ammonite. 1 Star Tuner. Light. 500 ATK. For what he
is, 500 ATK isn’t even terrible. If it winds up
being the only thing on the field, u can attack with
him without feeling like you’re wasting your time.
But obviously – he’s not for attacking. U use his
effect to special summon a level 4 or lower Alien
from your grave in order to Synchro summon, or just
knock your opponent out if they are already on the
ropes … For just the sheer free special summoning –
this little guy earns a bunch of snaps … If he were
2 stars – he’d be just shy of lethal (aka –
Plaguespreader class), able to genie out a Goyo
Guardian in a pinch … But whatevz. There are some 5
star Tuners that are worth it.
I know I whined about him not really fitting the
Alien A-counter theme … but that’s all in the past!
… I’ve moved on! … Why do u insist on continually
bringing up OLD stuff?! … He’s good, aight??. He
gives the Aliens a fighting chance. I’d call it a
“must” for an Alien deck.

Today we move on to
another Alien monster. Alien Ammonite. This little
guy is one of the new Alien cards that make an Alien
deck so fierce. When Alien Ammonite is normal
summoned, you can Special Summon 1 level 4 or lower
Alien Monster and during the end phase it gets
destroyed. Now, being a level 1 Tuner it can get out
level 5 Synchros, but to date we dont have many
level 5 Synchro monsters. However Magical Android
and Cosmic Fortress Gol'gar really are perfect for
any Alien deck.
Being such a powerful tuner for an underated deck,
this card really has put Aliens in the fast track
for being competative, all they really need is more
speed now.

This will be good in
the alien deck but I still don't think it will make
it this format.
