Monday

*checks cards for the week* We have a week of cards that don't suck, and I feel great about that...anyway, Miniaturize, a very simple and useful Normal Trap card that does one thing, and does it very well.

You choose one monster on the Field with 1000 or more original attack, and the selected monster has it's Level decreased by one, and it loses 1000 attack. Now, briefly addressing the attack loss...that's next to meaningless. It's not very important as it's the secondary effect of the card.

Reducing the Level of a monster by one though is brilliant, and obviously for you to help make a Synchro Summon more easy for you to accomplish, or event prevent, or at least delay your opponent from doing the same. I really like it, but sadly don't see it as much more than Tech.

Art: 3/5 True, but not spectacular

Miniaturize ...

Lame. Yeah, it does SOMETHING ... but its just a waste of resources, time, and space.
There'll NEVER be a situation where u'll be glad that u drew this as opposed to anything else in your deck.

Hey everybody. I've been gone for a while but I'm back.. again.. for the third time. LOL Anyways Miniaturize is a continuous trap card that targets one face up monster. The only good continuous traps I can think of off the top of the top of my head are Skill Drain and Royal Oppression and they don't target, anyways the targeted monster loses 1000 atk and its level is reduced by one. Now thinking this card can be used offensively and defensively. On offence you can use it to Synchro. On defense it reduces the attack of one monster by 1000 witch means if used correct you win the battle. Alright card just not what we need right now. I do like that you can activate it during Damage Calculation though.

Monday: Miniaturize

I would imagine the designers intended it to stop specific synchro summons. Unfortunately with the current state of the game, you have the following scenarios that arise when you use this card:

First of all, you need a monster on the field that can follow up an attack to take advantage of the attack reduction part. Then you have to deal with:

Gladiator Beast: Will simply Bestiari/Gyzarus it away.

LS: Will use Honest or Celestia.

Cat: Uses Trunade + Heavy Storm + MST, or can simply Arcanite it away. If you do get it off successfully, they’ll simply get out a Goyo instead of a level 7.

BW: Icarus, Kalut, and will simply get out a Goyo.

This card is useless.

Miniaturize, an interesting card honestly, and personally I find it as a trap version of Shrink just not as good. Any monster with 1000 or more original attack points loses 1000 attack points and its level is reduced by one. This can work for many different strategies, including Synchros. Altering a monsters level opens up more possibilities for synchro monsters. If you have a level 2 tuner and a level 4 monster and need something like Magical Android or Sea Dragon Lord Gishilnodon to win, Miniaturize can make either monster(assuming the tuner has 1000 or more original attack) a level lower. Now I also said this cards somewhat like Shrink but not as good, this is mostly true. Most monsters when targeted by Shrink lose at least 1000 attack points, Miniaturize is another way to lower any high monsters points so you can get over it. Mostly I see the card just for altering levels however, which you can just use Level Tuning to do Miniaturize's job, just faster. Shrink and Level Tuning are better cards to use if you either want to modify your levels or lower your opponents attack points.
