If you control a
"Blackwing" monster other than "Blackwing - Gale the
Whirlwind", you can Special Summon this card from
your hand. Once per turn, you can halve the ATK and
DEF of 1 face-up monster your opponent controls.

Welcome to no-brainer week. Somebody decided to have
us review the best cards in the game (at least in
their own decks) and TELL you they were good. These
cards you would run in their respective decks
PERIOD, and not really up for discussion. Like I
said, not my idea, but I'm rollin' with it.
Didn't we just review this guy? Anyway, what I said
before still goes. 1300 ATK on a DARK Blackwing
Tuner is just amazing. The effects just keep making
it more amazing-er. You can Special Summon it if you
have a Blackwing with a different name and he can
halve your opponent's monster's ATK and DEF
permanently.
The only thing that has changed with this card is
that you can play less of them. He is still the best
Tuner in the game and will likely be for some time,
just on the fact that he is good on his own as a
splash in different decks. Amazingly, I think that
play of him will increase as players will splash him
into random decks.
The banlist hurt the Blackwing deck, but it did not
kill them, it just made them more crafty in the
tricks that they can pull off.

What a set of cards we
have for review this week! Every card this week is a
5/5 rating in my book, so be sure to stop back and
read/ Today’s card up for review is Blackwing Gale
The Whirlwind. This card got put to 1 per deck on
the new banned list, so that alone should tell you
how powerful this card is. He has a permanent shrink
like effect, is a level 3 tuner, and part of the
cause on why Blackwings were playable last format.
In the Blackwing deck itself, you were able to swarm
like crazy, and this guy would let you halve some
big banger on the board, and then let you synchro
summon with ease. He is considered a staple to me in
practically any deck in the new format. It is way
too good to be able to halve and run over basically
any monster that you can think of, and giving you
access to your extra deck

Blackwing – Gale the
Whirlwind ...
I'm a little biased, playing Blackwings as i do ...
but this thing got restricted to 1 for a reason ...
cuz it's that damn good.
Level 3 - love it. It's not constricted by the
reigns that hold back level 4's ... 1300 ATK - It
can't be snagged by Bottomless Trap Hole. Gale is
completely searchable by Sangan and whatever else,
and slips under the Gravity Binds and Level Limits
of the world ...
And 1300 ATK doesnt stop it from slugging it out
with the big dogs. Gale's ability to once per turn
(PERMANENTLY) cut a monster's ATK in half, means
that this little bird can 1-on-1 kill a Stardust
Dragon, without its pesky effect being able to save
it. It'll pop Spirit Reaper, and bring just about
any BIGGER monster within striking distance of
whatever else20else u got on the field that might be
stronger than Gale.
Can it get any better? - Yes, it can. Gale's also
Dark, so she gets all the benefits from that
attribute. She's also a Tuner, so after doing her
thing, she can tune with whatever else u've got on
the field to make something bigger. And lastly - If
u've got another Blackwing on the field - Gale is
special summonable.
Yeah, this card is excellent.

Welcome to a new week
of Card of the Day, and we'll be starting off the
week with one very popular card: Blackwing - Gale
the Whirlwind. This monster is like a Shrink, just
better in most cases. Once per turn it can halve not
just the attack of a monster, but also its defense.
This makes it rather easy to get over those annoying
walls that some decks use, like Legendary Jujitsu
Master and Gravekeeper's Spy. Its also easily
searchable by both Black Whirlwind and Blackwing -
Shura the Blue Flame. Next to the now most popular
Blackwing tuner monster, Vayu, Gale the Whirlwind is
one really amazing card that you often find randomly
teched in some decks. Due to the new ban list going
into effect tomorrow, Gale the Whirlwind finds
itself on the limited list, hurting main stream
Blackwing decks. VayuSynchro or Vayu Turbo wont be
hurt much by Gale being limited but when teched
randomly in other decks, you generally only see 1 or
2 tops. Overall a very very good card, even at one
its still good to use as tech.
Continuing our look at Ancient Prophecy cards, we
open with Blackwing-Gale the Whirlwind, an excellent
Tuner and addition to the Blackwing Deck (despite
being Restricted tomorrow) and even a solid Tech
card for non-Blackwing players.
We have a Level 3 Dark attributed Winged-Beast
monster, who is also a Tuner, which obviously boosts
playability of this particular Blackwing.
1300 attack is reasonable for a monster of its
Level, and could be a lot bigger after using its
effect.
Blackwing-Gale the Whirlwind has the awesome ability
of being able to halve the attack and defense of one
of your opponent's face-up monsters, once per turn.
BUT wait, that's not all, furthermore, if you
control a Blackwing aside from Gale himself, you can
Special Summon this card.
Continue to watch out for Blackwings...the Ban List
actually did effect them, but it's still playable,
and still deadly.
