Solar Recharge is our card for the middle of the
week, a Magic card that does something seemingly
simple, but can be game breaking. By discarding a
Lightsworn Monster, you Draw two cards, then send
the Top two cards of your Deck to the Graveyard.
Now, let's go over that, you give up this card, and
a Lightsworn monster, to Draw two cards from your
Deck...techincally, a two for two, although this
most likely speeds up your plan of swarming and/or
getting Judgement Dragon on the Field, especially
after the sending your top two cards to the
Graveyard.
It's a great Draw card for Lightsworn players, but
this card is obviously a combo card. On it's own, it
very likely does little to nothing, it's what you
gain, or lose by the Deck discard that makes Solar
Recharge so powerful.

This is the biggest no-brainer of the week. It is a
Spell card that discards a Lightsworn from your
hand, draws you two cards and then mills you for 2.
You run 3 of these in Lightsworn pretty much without
any question as it is draw power, mill power and get
the kriffin' Wulf outta my hand power.
You can try splashing it and a few Lightsworn cards
into a deck in order to try and make it faster, but
I think that Charge of the Light Brigade happens to
be faster and more effective for that particular
purpose. Like I said, basically a no-brainer in the
Lightsworn deck, and maybe worthy of consideration
in an offbeat strategy to make it faster.

Today’s card up for
review is Solar Recharge. If you are using
Lightsworns, you use 3 copies of this card, no
excuses. This card is so essential to the deck, it
isn’t even funny. It obviously helps you mill, but
also helps your hands stabalize by pitching a drawn
Wulf, ditching a Garoth and then summoning lumina
etc. The card should only be in a pure Lightsworn
deck though. A lot of people try to mix darks and
such into it, but that will not work on a consistent
level.

Solar Recharge ...
Obviously for Lightsworn players ... of which I fall
into the ranks ...
Basically every 'draw' card that has come out since
Pot of Greed ad Graceful Charity is a good one, so
long as the requirements aren't TOO complicated to
fill. Usually it involves a very specific kind of
monster, which only just adds to support for the
deck type. Solar Recharge for Lightsworn is no
exception ... except in that its a little BETTER
than the others. Discard a Lightsworn from your hand
to the grave? - That's no problem as there are some
(usually Wulf) that are doing nothing for you in
your hand to begin with. Then u get 2 new cards.
What's more? U then get to dump 2 cards from the top
of your deck to the grave. Lightsworns LOVE doing
this. If u mill a Wulf - u get to special summon it.
If not - u get to fill your grave with more
Lightsworns, potentially. The sooner u get
Lightsworns in your grave, the sooner u can bring
the Judgement ... or just more options for Lumina
... or placing your Plaguespreader ... or placing
your Necro Gardnas ... or whatever! Drawing 2 cards
is only just HALF the appeal with Solar Recharge ...
which is why it gets a great score.

Today we'll be looking
at a rather simple card. Solar Recharge is the
"Destiny Draw" for Lightsworns, only it sends the
top 2 cards of your deck to the graveyard after you
draw. This is what makes Solar Recharge rather
"unique". If you like milling cards from your deck
to the graveyard. Many decks have resulted from this
card being available, mainly Zombiesworns.
Zombiesworns was a popular deck once Crossroads of
Chaos came out with Plaguespreader Zombie. Since it
was at 3 and so was Mezuki, being able to dump
multiple Plaguespreader Zombies and Mezuki's into
the graveyard, you could multi-synchro in a single
turn. Solar Recharge was added with Zombies to dump
them into the graveyard with other Lightsworn cards
like Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter, Lyla, Lightsworn
Sorceress and various others. So on top of being an
awesome draw card for the Lightsworn deck, it helped
create some other decks like Zombiesworns.
