Closing our week, we look at a card with some of the
sickest and coolest artwork ever, Doomcaliber
Knight, a monster who is a Dark attributed Fiend,
and Level 4 with an awesome 1900 attack and equally
sound 1800 defense.
Now, Doomcaliber Knight cannot be Special Summoned,
which is a huge boon to any card with those words
printed on it, but there's a good reason. If you
could use Doomcaliber Knight more than once, we
would have a problem. Now, the Knight from Hell
brings some equally disturbing power.
When an Effect Monster activates its Effect, you
must tribute this card. The monsters Effect is
negated, and the monster is destroyed.
Simply amazing...the only other downside to
Doomcaliber Knight, beyond the no Special Summoning
is that you HAVE to use his effect when your
opponent uses one.
It would be even better, near perfect if you had the
option, but still Doomcaliber Knight is one hell of
a card. Most players have, and will continue to make
room for him.

General Zorpa
Doomcalibur Knight
This is a card that the OCG has had for a while, and
has not been mass released elsewhere until now. He
is a 1900 ATK DARK Fiend of the level four. This is
already pretty good, as he is already a good
counterpart to Thunderking Rai-Oh, forming the other
half of the Chaos Sorceror Summoning requirement.
DCK has the effect that WHENEVER a monster effect is
ACTIVATED, you tribute him to negate the effect and
destroy the card. There is no if's and or buts, if
there is a monster effect happening, he WILL negate
it, whether you want it to or not. In this way I
think that Koa'Ki Meiru Guardian is better, as you
can choose if you want to and they have the same
stats.
He is basically played in anti-meta Skill Drain
decks, but can be splashed elsewhere if you find
your lack of Solemn judgment's leaving you out in
the cold. Since he DOES tribute himself, Skill Drain
will not negate his effect. However, if you have TWO
DCK's on the field and one of their effects is
activated, the second one will negat the first and
the opposing effect will go through. SO NEVER EVER
HAVE 2 ON THE FIELD AT THE SAME TIME.
All in all a good solid card that you have to think
a little to play, and I like that. It is the only-no
brainer card here, but he is definitely a solid pick
for many different decks.

Today’s card up for
review is Doomcaliber Knight. Like Crush Card, this
is one of the best cards ever created, but isn’t
broken beyond belief like Crush. This card is very
powerful, and may become a staple in America since
we recently got a reprint of it. What is not to like
about this card? Boohoo, it cannot be special
summoned, well there aren’t many cards that can
special him anyways. Simply put, to be able to
negate the activation of an effect is broken, and is
a staple in my eyes. Very annoying card to play
against, and I suggest that everybody picks a set of
this guy up

Doomcaliber Knight …
Well anyone who knows Freeza knows that Freeza loves
his fiend monsters above all others … A Doomcaliber
has been a highly anticipated one … He’s a Fiend –
Excellent. 4 Stars – Cool. Dark – perfect. 1900 ATK
– lovely. 1800 DEF - Cool. But then his effect is
what is supposed to put him above Archfiend Soldier
… and it does … but then it also doesn’t. The major
flaw with his ability to negate monster effects is
that it isn’t optional. Having to tribute your own
good monster to get his effect is bad enough, but
not being able to choose when u do it … just sucks!
Unless u are playing some heavy beatdown, chances
are that half the time it is U that will be hampered
by not being able to use an effect. And since your
opponent knows what Doomcaliber will do, they can
either wait (knowing that Doomcaliber is restricting
u as well) till they load their hand and are ready
to make their move, pop Doomcalber with a spell or
trap, or just blow him up with a throw away effect
that they don’t really care about anyway. Sure –
people would want the special summon from
Gravekeeper Spy’s flip effect, but if u have to flip
him to have him function as a “Night Assailant” for
a turn to blow up Doomcaliber? – Then so be it.
Still 1 for 1. No serious loss. And Treeborn Frog? –
forget it! He eats things like this for breakfast.
I want to like this card. I really do. And it HAS
its uses in a deck constructed for it. But ONLY for
a deck specifically constructed for it. Doomcaliber
Knight wins the “Best Card which is also the LEAST
Splashable of All-time” – Award.

Fridays Card of the
Day is a highly sought after and popular Shonen Jump
Championship card, Doomcaliber Knight. With its
recent reprint in the Turbo Pack, people have been
trying to get a set of Doomcaliber Knights for
various deck reasons, whether it be to run Stun
decks or use them as tech in either their main or
side decks. Doomcaliber Knight is quite the card,
being a dark fiend type monster, its also Allure of
Darkness fodder and could probably be added into a
new version of Dark Gaia OTK. While Doomcaliber
Knight doesn't have a cost to keep it on the field,
Koa'ki Meiru Guardian is much better and for a
reason. Doomcaliber Knight absolutely has to tribute
itself to negate a monsters effect, there is no
choice there in the matter. However with Koa'ki
Meiru Guardian you do have the choice to negate the
effect monsters effect and destroy the monster. Now
if we're gonna compare the art of the two monsters,
Doomcaliber Knight wins hands down. A rather
demonish being riding a demon horse is cooler than a
statue like monster, and more than likely most
people dont like the rock type in this game anyways,
since a lot of them look funny. But Doomcaliber
Knight is a good card, but requires more skill to
use, and personally I think it requires some skill
as to how to get around its effect if you have to
sacrifice one of your monsters to rid the field of
Doomcaliber Knight. Its a cool card, but it cant
just be used randomly in decks, and you really have
to think when using it.
