Now, it took all week, but we finally got to
something very nice, in the form of the Secret Rare,
Gladiator Beast Retiari who is a Water monster of
the Aqua-type and Level 3, with 1200 attack and 800
defense.
When this card is Special Summoned by the effect of
a Gladiator Beast monster, simple enough, you can
remove from play one card from your opponent's
Graveyard...beautiful, absolutely beautiful.
Gladiator Beasts return to the Deck when attacking
or being attacked, so if you continue to bring this
guy, obviously outside of his own effect as they
don't Special Summon themselves, but that's no
problem.
Gladiator Beast Retiari is a very anti...well, he
can be pretty anti-everything by removing monsters
to prevent Dark Armed Dragon from being Special
Summoned, maybe even stop a Judgement Dragon for a
while.

General Zorpa
Gladiator Beast Retiari
Gladiator Beast Retarded is a level 3 WATER Aqua
monster with 1200 ATK and 800 DEF. That is not so
great from a Gladiator Beast perspective, as he is
useless anywhere else. He does not really have the
ATK to break cards in battle, so he will likely need
some help to tag out. But of course this card is
great because of it's effect.
Retarded gets you a card in your opponent's
graveyard removed from play when he is summoned by
the effect of a Gladiator Beast monster. As it is
more of a control creature, you will not want to
play more than 1 or 2 of them in your deck, but they
can really be a beast in the right situation.
Retarded is the easiest answer that Gladiators have
to Stardust Dragon. You activate a removal spell
like Smashing Ground, they activate Stardust's
effect, and it goes to the graveyard. You summon a
Gladiator and attack, tagging in Retarded during the
end of the Battle Phase and you remove Stardust.
Cool huh?
Well, Retarded can also control the DAD player's
graveyard, or remove vital Lightsworn and Zombie
cards from play. Malicious and Plaguespreader Zombue
are not nearly as scary when they are removed from
play. This card plus Samnite will put Gladiators in
contention for the crown again, so keep your eyes
peeled....

Gladiator Beast
Retiari
I love this card, I really do. I love the whole
Gladiator Beast dynamic, and Retiari just adds so
much to the mix. a 3-star, 1200/800 with the ability
to trash your opponent's Graveyard upon summoning,
attack, then tag out just to get him again is simply
phenomenal. He's made a huge splash in the Gladiator
Beast world, with some going so far as to say he's
one of the best Gladiator Beasts out there right now
(which I disagree with, to be honest). He has a
great effect, but his ATK and DEF leave something to
be desired. In a deck known for its weak monsters,
Gladiator Beasts need great effects, and while
disrupting the Graveyard is helpful in the long run,
Retiari doesn't do everything to make him a top
draw.

Secret Rare
As if the Gladiator Beasts need any MORE help
already!!
These guys are turning into SUCH a toolbox that it’s
more impressive than ridiculous right now! They just
keep getting sweet little upgrades that make
Gladiator Beasts fully equipped to handle any
situation that they come up against. And Retiari is
just the latest addition.
Is he good? Well, kinda! Soon as he’s tagged in –
boom! – instant -1 from your opponent’s graveyard.
And with the heavy reliance upon cards in the
graveyard these days, that’s only a good thing. He’s
not terribly strong so u probably won’t be doing
much fighting with him, but that’s not why you’d use
him anyway. He comes to the field, does his thing,
and use him as fuel for Gyzarus. Then he’s then back
in the deck waiting to pop out again if your
opponent dumps something in the grave that u don’t
like the smell of.
Not the BEST of the Gladiators, but solid, a helpful
addition, and very good at what he does.
Oh, and plus his picture rocks!
