Trap of the Imperial Tomb is an interesting card for Zombie players, as it relies on your opponent doing something, and I don't generally like cards that require an opponent's trigger, and my feelings here are pretty much the same.

A Zombie monster has to be Special Summoned from your opponent's Graveyard...not the most difficult thing in the world to accomplish...however, the selected monster has to be Special Summoned to YOUR side of the Field, and then you destroy two cards on the Field.

The destruction effect is nice, but this is too situational, even with Monster Reborn legal in this Format. Sadly, I believe this card is better suited in your trade binder.

General Zorpa Trap of the Imperial Tomb

If a Zombie is Special Summoned from your opponent's graveyard to your side of the field, you can destroy 2 cards on the field. This is obviously meant to be used in the Zombie World deck, where all of your opponents monsters are ZOmbies and your Red Eyes Zombie Dragons and Paladin of CUrsed Dragon will steal your opponent's monsters.

As of right now, this is junk. Zombie World is not really good as a deck and it is far too situational. I fyou like the +1, use Treacherous Trap Hole instead.

Todayʼs card up for review is Trap of the Imperial Tomb. This card seems like it would be fun to use. First thing that come to mind for me, is to use this if you are using Zombie World. If you have a Zombie Master, Zombie World, and this, you can really put a hurting on your opponent. Thatʼs your only real use to be honest, but it is sick. Try it out!

The best deck that this card can work in is a Zombie World deck. Most non zombie deck players have Spirit Reaper or Plaguespreader Zombie as their only Zombies. With Zombie World, Zombie Master will reborn a monster from their grave and then destroy two of their cards with the Trap of the Imperial Tomb. It certainly be very agressive in Zombie decks, but their are easier ways to create advantage for a zombie player.

Hello all!
This marks my Inauguration Day of Card Reviewing for Pojo (in your FACE Obama!)
Cool Cool Cool :)

Anywho ... let's get underway with - Trap of the Imperial Tomb!
At first very very quick glance - u see the 2 for 1 and u start to salivate ... ... but then u hear that little voice inside u saying - "wait a minute ..."

The first issue - Monster must be summoned from your opponents Graveyard. That takes the ball out of your court right away. Now you're waiting for your OPPONENT to do something big, which means you're letting them dictate the pace of the game. How long do u intend to wait?

Ok - monster revival happens quite frequently in Yu-gi-oh, so maybe u don't have to wait long, so ... wait - hold up again - it must be a ZOMBIE type monster!

I know, Zombies are pretty wet these days, and you're probably saying - "Dude? Freeza? Zombie World?!? Hello??! Even if you're opponent ISN'T playing Zombies, u can just MAKE them Zombies ... and then use YOUR Zombies to resurrect from your opponent's graveyard!!! hahahaha"

Ok, so now to ensure that your opponent has a viable target in their graveyard, you gotta have your Zombie World field Spell. Then it has to be resurrected, meaning either you're waiting for your opponent or u now have to have another card in action to make it work. And u still need to have actually drawn and successfully set this trap. That's 3 conditions so far, and believe it or not, you're STILL not done. Lastly your opponent THEN has to have at least 2 cards on the field, or you'll be forced to destroy something of your own.

Nah, dawg ... don't bother!
Zombies have WAAAY too many weapons to waste time and deck space with something like this.
