Welcome to Remove from Play week, as all our cards
this week center on removing cards from the game in
one way or another, and we open with an interesting
monster from the Dark Emperor Structure Deck,
Dimensional Alchemist.
Dimensional Alchemist is a Level 4 Fairy-type of the
Light attibute with a not so impressive 1300 attack
and even worse 200 defense. Now, once per turn, you
can remove the top card of your Deck from play and
this card gains 500 attack.
1800 is respectable in an attack, if only even for
your turn. It would have been better had the
increase lasted through your opponent's turn, but we
won't dwell on that. When this card is destroyed and
removed from the Field, it doesn't matter how, you
can add a Monster or yours that has been removed,
and add it to your Hand.
That's the effect that might make you want to play
this card. Removal is still fairly big, as it's one
of the only ways, at least in theory, to keep
something out of the game. The attack increase isn't
very reliable, and this card most likely will be
destroyed. If you're looking for another way to add
a removed Monster back to your Hand, give this guy a
try.

General Zorpa
Dimensional Alchemist
Well, here is remove-from-play week, where we will
review a ton of cards that have to do with removing
cards from play for their effects. First up is
Dimensional Alchemist, a random card from The Dark
Emperor structure deck that has always been a
favorite of people at my local for some reason.
It is a LIGHT Fairy, so Honest and the Counter Fairy
stuff will work nicely there. 1300 ATK and 200 DEF
are horrible. It can still attack over Krebons if
you don't activate it's effect though, which is
kinda nice. It's effect is that once per turn you
can remove from play the top card of your deck to
have Alchemist gain 500 ATK. That is a nice little
boost, as 1800 ATK is actually worth something.
Then, when he is destroyed by anything, he lets you
return one removed from play monster to your hand.
Now that is awesome! You can use this guy and
Phantom of Chaos in order to get a remove from play
toolbox going. You Grepher Dark Armed to the
Graveyard, then remove it with Phantom of CHaos,
Dark Creator or Striker Ninja and get it back with
the Alchemist, decimating opponent's with a Gold
Sarcophogas like effect, except that it isn't
limited to one and can activate a turn early.
All in all a really odd card that could really be
broken if anyone took the time to think of the
combis with him.

Todayʼs card up for review is Dimensional
Alchemist. I will be honest, when I first read this
card when I opened my Structure deck, I thought wow!
To this day, I still feel this has loads of
potential. He is a card that will replace himself in
terms of advantage, so it has that going for him. If
you could keep this guy on the board, you can keep
milling every turn and fuel your rfg pile for some
tricks. You could potentially mill so many nasty
cards, that your opponent may not even wanna kill
Alchemist. The card you get back wonʼt get touched
your opponents cards, unless they play Burial From A
Different Dimension. I see this as a very fun card,
and potentially a fun deck based around removing
stuff. Try it out when you get the chance!

Dimensional Alchemist is a great answer to the first
turn Stratos or Laquari or anything that has lower
ATK. Top card is removed and it gets a 500 ATK
boost. Its also a plus when you have a removed
monster from play to bring back to your hand
whenever he is destroyed. Just as long as he hits
the grave, it doesn't matter how he goes there. Its
not a bad card, but with a little boost, it becomes
like an 1800 ATK Diamond Dude.
