Dark Paladin
Tuesday

Continuing our week, we come to an interesting Zombie monster in Mezuki, who is a Level 4 Earth-type monster with a respectable 1700 attack and 800 defense.

Here, our effect is simple, Mezuki can remove himself from the Graveyard to allow you to Special Summon a Zombie-type monster from your Graveyard. Zombies seem to fairly rely on removing cards from play to revive themselves anyway, so Mezuki fits right in.

I don't mean to be short today, but the card is good, anyone playing Zombies all ready knows this and probably wonders why we haven't reviewed this card before.

Well, 1700 ATK and an EARTH Zombie attribute and type are already pretty good. It would be better if it was DARK, but so would every card in the game. You can remove this card from play from your graveyard in order to Special Summon a ZOmbie from your graveyard.

That is a +1 right there, but a +2 with Card os Safe Return on the field. Not to mention additional advantage by reviving key cards like Zombie Master, Goblin Zombie and Plaguspreader Zombie. There is not much to say about this card except for the fact that pretty much ANY deck packing Zombies will want to run them.

This card is especially wicked when combined with Burial From a Different Dimension, as you can reuse both Plaguespreader and Mezuki to throw clouds of Synchros at the opponent until they can't take it anymore. This card makes the Zombie deck viable, but boring. My friend has it and once spent 5 minutes playing by himself while I took a quick nap during a game.

I don't like the card, but there is no denying it's effectiveness.

Todayʼs card up for review is the only reason pretty much why people bought Premium Pack 2. This card is nasty, and is the sole purpose why Zombies can do what they do. If you can get some Zombies in the Grave with a few of these guys, you should be all set. Burial From A Different Dimension will help you loop combos and get a board of 4 Synchros. If you draw Card Of Safe Return, then you pretty much auto win from this point. Basically, if you run Zombies and donʼt use this, your stupid haha

Mezuki should be played in all Zombie decks. The combos are awesome. Zombie Master can use this as a discard or to bring this back to eventually be sent to the grave ready to use its effect. All zombie decks will use Card of Safe Return because of this and many other reasons. Pretty much no downside to Mezuki at all. An opponent can Bottomless Trap Hole him, but Burial from a Different Dimension will return the Mezuki back to revive another Zombie. Every deck should run three copies of Mezuki.

Anteaus This week is great, I'm not going to lie. Monday I missed because I can't check my e-mails too frequently on the weekends, but still, I'm here now, so let's see what damage we can do!

Today's card is Mezuki, and is probably one of the best cards for Zombies that I've ever seen. It's effect is simple, yet divine: remove Mezuki from your graveyard so you can Special Summon another Zombie from your graveyard. Zombie mechanics have changed a lot over the years, and they're finally doing what they needed to be doing: using the graveyard to maximum efficency. Mezuki is no exception, as there are many cards that can absolutely dominate when Special Summoned from the grave. Plus, his stats aren't too bad, either: 1700/800 isn't anything to write home to mom about, but it'll get the job done in a pinch. Besides, you don't want Mezuki to be on the field; you want him in the graveyard, ready to be removed so he can be an integral part of the larger picture. Trust me, this is definitely one of the best cards for Zombie builds.
