Well, this is a fun little card. He has 1500 ATK and
800 DEf on e alevel 4 monster that is an EARTH
Dragon. The effect is wher eit gets good, as the
stats were average when the game first came out.
You can discard a level 8 or higher monster in order
to Special Summon Hardened and then when you tribute
summon a level 7 or higher monster using this guy as
tribute, that monster cannot be destroyed by card
effects. Well, it is a bit costly to use, but in a
Zombie deck it could do well, as they generate lots
of Special Summons.
The ideal deck for this card is with the Wicked
Avatar. He has ATK that is always one hundred points
higher than any monster on the field. Even Honest
cannot get over it. If it cannot be killed in
battle, then the only thing that this guy would be
scared of would be Phoenix Wing Wind Blast or
another spin, bounce or remove from play effect. As
those cards are out of favor right now, this can
actually do quite well.
As it can combo with Totem Dragon to bring out
indestructible Tyrant Dragons essentially for free,
I would certainly test this card out and not
hesitate to bring it to bear on unsuspecting
opponents. Delicious.

Hardened Armed Dragon
...
HAD - A neat little monster. Perhaps the best of the
secret rares of this booster? Let's look :)
4 Stars. 1500 ATK. This makes him super duper
searchable if need be. Cool. Dragon type, which has
been getting a bunch of support lately ... cool too.
Now his effect? - well he's got 2. one allows u to
free up your hand by dropping a level 8 or higher
monster to the graveyard, and then u u get to summon
this bag of dragon bones. Cool? - yes, cuz many
times u'd rather be shortcutting such big monsters
via the graveyard anyway, and he gets special
summoned at that. Next, when he's used as a tribute
summon for anything 7 stars or higher, that monster
becomes quite nearly indestructible, except by
battle. (Please note - said monster can still be
bounced, removed from play, or generally punked out
by spells and traps that DON'T use the word
"destroy" in their effect descriptions) ... But its
still a nice security blanket to have, knowing no
Mirror Force, Torrential Tribute, or DAD can smack
u.
It's a great card with lots of usability, but is
only really as useful as the amount of significant 8
star (yes, level 8) monsters u are playing with that
can require a tribute. If u are playing 4 or 5,
maybe? HAD will be your best friend.

Hardened Armed
Dragon…. This is a really interesting card. Those
using Hopeless Dragon should really give though in
using this card. It has the ability to turn the deck
from pure speed swarm to a slower, control based
variant. While its first effect is not too likely to
be used, it is the second effect that can single
handily win games.
Because of its second effect, it literally makes Red
Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon worth double tributing
for. Think about it for a second, what exactly can
your opponent do aside from attacking over such a
wall to get rid of it? Phoenix Wing Wind Blast is
not used anymore, and neither is DDWL. The only
weakness is against Lightsworn and their pesky
Honests.
By using this card, it forces you to use protective
traps like Threatening Roar and Bottomless, changing
the entire outlook of the Dragon deck. Dragon decks
still aren’t tier-1 yet, but it’s cards like these
that give them potential to do big things in the
future.
