Well, Yusei certainly makes Junk Warrior look like
one hell of a fighter on the anime, doesn't he? We
have a Level 5 Synchro Warrior-type monster here,
who is of the Dark attribute with 2300 attack and
1300 defense.
Level 5 allows easy Synchro Summoning and although
Junk Synchron is specifically required, it isn't a
problem. 2300 attack isn't great, but it's not
terrible either for a Level 5 monster I suppose, and
he powers himself up by the total attack of all
Level 2 monsters and lower you control.
That's not a terrible effect, but as it's his ONLY
effect, it's not so great either. His name is
perfect, as he gains the attack of your "Junk"
monsters. I don't really feel he has any real
competitive play however, unless of course you are
on the anime and you're name happens to be Yusei.

Junk Warrior
We reviewed this guy when he first came out in the
first Starter Deck. That was not actually all that
long ago. As it stands, he is one of the worst
Synchro monsters. Level 5 Warrior with 2300 ATK is
not something that makes people drool anymore. He
also needs you to have JunK Synchron in order to be
Summoned, but since Synchron will generally get the
other material for you, this is not as much of an
issue as you might think.
The problem with Junk Warrior is his effect. He
gains an ATK boost, but only equal to the ATK of
level 2 or lower monsters when he is Synchro
Summoned. Unless you are playing a deck that plays a
TON of level 2 or lowers, this card is not going to
be winning the game anytime soon. However, the use
of cards like Quillbolt Hedgehog, who Special Summon
themselves for free can boost Junk Warrior to
playable levels. With a Quillbolt on the field he
gains 800 ATK, which puts him at 3100 and able to
take out pretty much any big monster that sees play
and you dit it all essentially for free.
Yusei's cards are all focused on these little
monsters that mitigate the cost of cards that are
generally too hard or expensive resource wise to
bring out. This card is not the exception to that
rule. If you do not have access to Magical Android,
then this guy is not so bad for Casual, as you are
able to do some pretty cool things FOR FREE with
him.

Junk Warrior ...
This one is an easy one. It sucks. I told u
yesterday how i feel about Synchro monsters that
need a SPECIFIC tuner in order to be synchro
summoned ... But if it has to be the case, at least
make it worthwhile. Junk Warrior does not. What u
get is a 2300 attacker that does nothing else for u,
unless u have more monsters still on the field. And
they have to be level 2 or lower monsters at that.
And all Junk Warrior gets is an attack increase.
*yawn*
His only SEMI-saving grace is that of all the
specific pieces to be the tuner, Junk Synchron is
one of the better ones. Assuming u are playing with
a bunch of level 2 or lower monsters (which u should
be with this deck), he gets Junk Warrior to the
field very quickly and easily. However, this is a
review on Junk Warrior, not his tuner piece. And i'd
sooner make Magical Android out of a 5 star synchro
summon than this thing.

Well, its Wednesday
and for our COTD today we have Junk Warrior, Yusei's
original key card and the original of all the
"Warrior" Synchro monsters. Unlike the others, Junk
Warrior is perhaps the best of them all. Its a level
5 that is summoned by tuning Junk Synchron to 1 or
more non-Tuners, and when Junk Warrior is Synchro
Summoned, it gains attack equal to the total of all
level 2 and lower monsters you control. Junk Warrior
has quite a few ways to work in decks. Mostly with
Inferno Reckless Summon and The Calculator and in
any Frog themed decks. Say you have Metal Reflect
Slime out and summon Junk Synchron to get back The
Calculator, then play Inferno Reckless Summon on The
Calculator, thats 2 3000+ attack monsters, and if
you Synchro Junk Warrior, it gets both of the
Calculators attack, thats quite a lot of attack
points. Wetlands in any Frog deck adds an additional
1200 attack to all level 2 and below Water
attributed Aqua type monsters, thats usually almost
2000 points each, again this gives a lot of points
to Junk Warrior. Unfortunately both decks, whether
based on The Calculator or Frogs, aren't major
decks. Fun decks mostly for now unless they get a
ton of support, but still fun to play. Junk Warrior
makes it more fun to play them and is a decent card,
someone just needs to find a way to break him in
high level decks.
Never has a card title been so befitting. You don't
have enough room in the extra deck to be playing
this card. Using it would imply you're using Junk
Synchron, which is a decent card. But Magical
Android is far better even if you are using Synchron
to set it up!
