Pojo's Yu-Gi-Oh Card of the Day

Berserking
#RGBT-EN089

Once per turn, during your Main Phase or your opponent's Battle Phase, you can select 2 face-up Beast-Type monsters on the Field. Until the end of the turn, 1 of the selected monsters loses half its ATK, and the other monster gains an equal amount of ATK.

General Zorpa Berserking

This was a good concept made bad. Basically the designers realized too late (I suspect halfway through designing the card) that Beasts needed not support, or Cat Synchro decks would be unstoppable, so they watered this down so much that it is virtually unplayable under almost any circumstances.

Basically this card is a Riryoku on a Trap while you have to have two Beasts and only can be played on your opponent's turn. if this could be played anytime, it would be pretty good, allowing Airbellum to get over problem cards when brought out with Rescue Cat. However, non-chainable and not useable on your turn is bad in a trap, so I would stick with Shrink for ATK manipulation.

Beserking ...

I dont know ... I dont really like it. It's a bit complicated for a trap. Let's skip all this stuff about it being continuous and thus able to fall victim to Heavy Storm, yadda, yadda, yadda ... The part that i just cant get passed is that u need 2 face up beast type monsters on the field at any given time to make this thing functional. Fun - if ur opponent has a beast out and u steal THEIR monster's strength ... and, correct me if i'm wrong, but since this an increase/decrease in ATK trap effect, it can be activated during the damage step? I'm not certain of that, but if that's the case, it can definitely make your opponent rethink their attacking options, based on what u have out ... But despite that and all the clever things that can be thrown together with this thing, ... Rescue Cat and whatnot ... It's just too easy for this to wind up as useless in your hand OR on the field. And as a top deck? ... Please. u WILL hate yourself in the morning.

Parallel Fates Berserking…. This card is ONLY usable in beast type decks, as there simply aren’t enough beast type monsters being used in others. Even if you’re running beasts, the card is useless outside a mirror match. Beast decks should have no shortage of attack power given the monsters they use, therefore if this card was utilized, you’d like to halve the attack of an opponent’s monster.

Under the assumption that you do find yourself in a beast mirror match, this card wins games. If not literally, it’ll provide you with the perfect opportunity to do so. Not only will if give you advantage on the field, it is also likely going to inflict some major life point damage. The fact that you can use this card in your opponent’s battle phase, you have control over most of the attacks that go through, which is definitely make your opponent’s life miserable.

All in all, in the current metagame, this card is useless. Not enough people using beast decks to realize its potential.
