This is one of the cards from the new set that was
completely hyped out of proportion. It is a
Quickplay Spell that allows you to tribute a Winged
Beast monster in order to Special Summon one that is
of the same level from yoru deck. This would
typically be used to Special Summon one of the same
monster in order to avoid destruction effects like
Bottomless Trap Hole.
Ideally this would be used in Blackwings. There is a
cute combo with Sirocco. Normal Summon Sirocco,
Special Summon Bora, Special Summon Gale. You
activate Sirocco's effect, giving all of the ATK to
Bora, who is at 5000 right now. Activate Swallow's
Best to bring out Another Sirocco, and suddenly Bora
has 10000 ATK. You then attack a DEF position
monster or use Enemy Controlle ran do massive
piercing damage for game. As a common play now is to
just set a Gravekeeper's Spy and end turn with
nothing in the back, this combo can win games.
The other thing that this card is good for is
getting Aslla Piscu to activate it's effects. You
get Aslla Piscu to the field with a Black Garden on
the field. They have 2 tokens let's say. You attack
directly for 1250, then activate Swallow's Nest.
Tributing Aslla Piscu in order tobring out another.
They get a token, then the departed Aslla Piscu
activate's it's effect, killing all 3 tokens and
doing 2400 damage and then you still get to attack
with the new Aslla Piscu. Fun huh?
This card was so hyped that people were disappointed
when it did not get really played that much. I think
it is just because people have not seen it as viable
in the Blackwing deck, but time will show that this
card is NOT Cunning of the Six Samurai.

Swallow's Nest ...
An awesome card. It's almost text book that a great
card becomes an awesome card when its made as a
quick play. Swallow's Nest fits this mold and THEN
some. Now we all know that it lends even MORE power
and speed to Blackwings which were never in short
supply of power and speed, but it works for ALL
Winged Beast monsters. All one needs is the same
level as the monster being tributed, and from there?
- Use your imagination!
It can be used defensively as well as offensively.
Someone tries a Brain Control, a bounce of some
kind, a Sakuretsu ... ANYTHING - and u can pull your
monster out and bring in a new one just as strong
... or even STRONGER, just as long as their levels
are the same. U can even swap a monster for a copy
of the same one - maybe to get Gail's shrink effect
twice? ... and God forbid u are attacking into a
clear field with a Bora or Shura, and you've got a
couple of these in hand? - the Damage u pour on will
be rediculous.
U play Blackwings, or Harpies, or even the Immortal
Aslla Piscu? ... Swallow's Nest is definitely a good
idea.

Man I really need to
stop going to so many parties and start trying to
remember witch day it is of the week. Well today for
me is sunday so technically I'm writing this for
monday. :) Swallow's Nest is technically a -1 unless
the monster you are summoning gives you an imediate
advantage such as Sacred Crane. Overall the card is
good because of the new winged beast we have been
getting. Blackwings being one of the top decks could
use this to work with chaos or just apply presure on
the opponent, fill the graveyard, attack again, or
dodge cards that destroy your monster.

Swallow’s Nest…. This
was originally hyped to be really good in Blackwing
decks during initial release. However, people then
started to realize that there was no point in
running them given the speed that already exists.
After all is said and done, this card is ultimate a
neg-1 as there aren’t any special effects that
Blackwing monsters get upon summon.
Also, there’s only 2 switches that you can actually
pull off, Gale & Kalut, and Bora & Shura. The only
actual switch that is worth doing is Kalut for
favour of Gale for a synchro summon. However, with
all BW decks running triple Whirlwind, a player
should not have to waste 2 cards for to get Gale.
At first it appears to be a solid control card, but
because it’s a neg-1, it’ll make players hesitate to
use it. Maybe in the future when we get more winged
beast type monsters, this will be worth using.
