Brain Golem, a Level 6, Water attributed Fiend, who
strange, with 2500 attack (nice) and 1800 defense (meh)
who might as well say "play me against Lightsworn,
Counter Fairies, and that's it..." and if you do,
after I destroy a Light monster, I can attack again
in a row...
Short and sweet folks, if either of those are big
problems, side one, and use when necessary.

General Zorpa
Brain Golem
This guy just screams "I HATE LIGHTSWORN!". He has
2500 ATK and 1800 DEF on a level 6 DARK Fiend. That
alone is worth considering. He is better than
Summoned Skull as far as effects and stats go. The
one tribute thing is actually the issue with this
card, he is a little slow to stop the deck that he
is supposed to stop.
His effects are simple and to the point. Effects of
LIGHT monsters that are face-up on the field are
negated. If it kills a LIGHT monster in battle, you
attack once again in a row. This basically means
that Thunderking Rai-Oh, all the lIghtsworn monsters
and a few other cards just got a new nemesis. He
will stop effects of Lumina, Lyla, Judgment Dragon
and Ryko to name a few. The real problem is Honest.
That card just takes this guy down to China Town.
The second effect is more for flavor than anything
else. Attacking with this guy is not a priority once
you get him out. Necro Gardna and Honest prevent you
from attacking anyway, so you are better off using
other cards to attack with and this guy sitting
pretty on the field. This is where his level hurts.
You want to get him out asap, but rarely can as you
have to Tribute for him.
On the whole a good counter to Lightsworn other than
Light Imprisoning Mirror as it is a one-sided Skill
Drain on legs which is always fun. I might tech a
couple in a side for a DARK deck that is not
Blackwings as they can control the LIGHT decks
pretty well already and this is just icing on the
cake.

Brain Golem …
Brain Golem is one of those cards that’s just fine
in every way possible … Essentially an enhanced
version of a card that used to be great, but lost
its edge as the landscape of the game changed. I’m
talking about Summoned Skull. Remember him? Also a
Dark Fiend – 2500 ATK … Ultra Rare from back when
this game was young … he was Awesome. Why? Cuz he
was hands down the strongest 1 tribute monster
Available at the time. Beat Down running rampant, he
was a devastating weapon. But the face of the game
grew and changed over the years, and now he’s not
ever played. Not even in the most dedicated Fiend
Deck.
Enter Brain Golem … He is also a Dark Fiend. 2500
ATK. 1 Tribute. But now an even better DEF than
Summoned Skull. So if he somehow ends up in DEF
mode, it’ll take more than the standard=2 01800
4-star monster to take him down. (Although, arguably
… back when The Skull was hot, his weaker DEF was an
asset, as it made him searchable by Witch of the
Black Forrest … ahhh … memories …) And what’s more?
– Brain Golem not only negates the effects of
face-up Light Monsters, but he also gets another
heavy attack if he first destroys a light monster …
which means he absolutely SLAUGHTERS Lightsworn
decks …
Even against NON-light based cards, he’s got no
downsides to him at all which makes him a nice
monster that’ll run over almost every other 1
tribute monster that is played. However … even with
the Dark Fiend theme, he doesn’t TRULY get to shine,
as there are still several other better 1 tribute
choices that’ll do more for u in the long run …
Make no mistake - he’s still a great choice (maybe
even use 2) for a side deck … you’re going to have
to fight the light SOONER or later … u’ll be happy
to have him armed and ready when u do.

Today we review
possibly one of the coolest cards in Raging Battle.
Brain Golem. Its basically a stronger Summoned
Skull. Its a level 6, 2500 attack, 1800 defense
monster that has the effect of negating all face-up
LIGHT monsters' effects and if it destroys a LIGHT
monster in battle it can attack once again in a row.
This card is a pretty serious threat to Lightsworn
decks and only gives a huge boost for any DARK based
deck. Personally I want to side this card in my
Blackwing deck, only because I find this card to be
a much better version of Light-Imprisoning Mirror.
Theres only one card in Lightsworns that can get
over this card and thats Judgment Dragon. You can
count other monsters if you use Honests effect to
boost one of their LIGHT monsters up. This card is
an excellent side deck card because without Honests
and Judgment Dragons, Lightsworns cant get over this
card.

Brain Golem:
Okay, first of all, Brain Golem was broken in
sealed. Not because of its effect, but because it
was huge. Other than that it's pretty bad. In theory
it seems pretty good against Lightsworn, but in
reality they'll just Necro block or Honest you.
Konami tried I guess...

Effects of face-up LIGHT monsters are negated. If
this card destroys a LIGHT monster by battle, it can
attack once again in a row.
I like this card even though I have a deep love for
Light Monsters. The ability to negate something on
the field is great especially if it's highly played.
Negating a whole Attribute could be quite deadly if
the opposing player doesn't think quick and I'm not
just directing this at Lightsworn it could possibly
be all over for the deck. The next effect is even as
devastating as the first being able to attack twice
is no joke. Especially when it's a 2500 one sac
beater and the only thing you have to do is destroy
one light monster. Unfortunately this card should
NEVER see the main deck as Light decks aren't
everywhere. It also requires one offering putting it
in the same spot as Jinzo. at a local or regional
it's worth a shot in the side deck.
