Phoenixian Cluster Amaryllis, is a Level 8, Fire
attributed Plant monster, which I think would be
bad, as Fire tends to destroy Plants, so far as I
know, but I'm not involved in things like that, my
degree is to teach Math...anyway, PCA (for short)
has 2200 attack (horrid for Level 8) and 0 defense
(even worse...)
Now, despite being Level 8, which requires two
tributes, you can use Phoenixian seed to Special
Summon PCA without having to tribute, which is good,
even though the PCA must be in your Hand, but that's
all right, as I don't see this card really worth
tributing for.
Now, after Damage Calculation, PCA is destroyed, and
if destroyed while you control this card, deal 800
damage to your opponent, which is almost a
reasonable amount of damage. During the End Phase,
you can remove one Plant-type monster from your
Graveyard to Special Summon this card in defense
position.
In the Plant Deck, obviously, PCA can work...sort
of. We saw Akiza use her reasonably well against
Yusei on Yugioh 5Ds, but you more or less need to be
set up and semi-protected or it just isn't worth it.

Phoenixian Cluster
Amaryllis
Today we have one of the wierdest cards that we have
ever seen. Amaryllis is a Level 8 2200 ATK FIRE
Plant. Wow. Those stats are pretty bad. The standard
for a level 8 monster is pretty much 2800 ATK and
this thing isn't even close. The attribute isn't so
bad as Lonefire Blossom is played.
The effect text is way too complicated, but
basically you can only summon it with it's seed,
which is a Special Summon and it dies whenever it
attacks. Luckily, any time it would die, you get to
burn your opponent for 800 points. But wait there's
more! If it is in the garveyard during your End
Phase you can remove a Plant from play to Special
Summon it in DEFENSE MODE?! Wow, a continual source
of burn is nice, but why wrap it up in so much
packaging?
You cannot even use this as a sort of a Treeborn
Frog effect as it happens during your End Phase.
Generally you do not want to remove your plants
anyway as they would preferred to be revived or
removed for Mark of the Rose. Basically it is way
too hard to SUmmon and really doesn't do a whole lot
once it hits the field. Such cards go in my "cards
that look coool but just phail" pile.

Today’s card up for review is Phoenixian Cluster
Amaryllis. I first read this card, and was like,
sweet! Then I read Phoenixian Seed =/. I dislike
cards that say you can tribute this card to summon
the monster from your hand. That will tell you right
off the bat, it will be very inconsistent, or not
being able to work at all. Now, if you chose to use
this card and Seed and can pull it off, then you
will have something cooking. This guy will keep
coming back! It doesn’t say in the text that during
your end phase during the turn he is destroyed… That
is very sweet! Who knows, this may work someday, and
Plants may finally be a viable deck type!

Phoenixian Cluster
Amaryllis ...
Actually ... this card ain't so bad .... Forget the
stats. For a level 8 monster, everything about it is
either terrible or worse. But looking at it's burn
effect? - it's kinda cool. So long as it doesnt get
removed from the field or bounced back to the deck,
and u have plant monsters in your grave to keep
removing, it will keep coming back and burning for
800 each time. Now we could talk about little fixes
to make this plant even deadlier, but looking at it
as it is - i don't hate it. It can only find a home
in a plant burn deck ... but I could see that being
a rather fun deck to make use of.

Today we review a cool
card, Phoenixian Cluster Amaryllis. Another level 8
plant monster. I smell a plant deck with Trade-Ins
involved. Anyways, it cant be special summoned
except with its own effect or Phoenixian Seed and if
it attacks, its destroyed after damage calculation.
If its destroyed and sent to the graveyard, your
opponent receives 800 damage and during the end
phase you can remove a plant from play to special
summon this card in defense position. By playing
Trade-In and sending it to the graveyard, you can
bring it back during the end of the turn, which is
pretty awesome. It also has a solid 2200 attack,
even though its rather low for a level 8, its not
completely terrible. And the abuse you can dish out
on your opponent with Card of Safe Return and
possibly other tech cards like D.D.R. - Different
Dimension Reincarnation to bring removed plants from
play back. You can also use cards like Burial from a
Different Dimension to restock your graveyard with
plants. Its a workable defense really. Outside of
plants its obviously not that great a card and im
sure most plant players would prefer to use other
cards in their deck.

For some reason this card reminds me of Sacred
Phoenix of Nefteys. I personally don't like this
card because of the stipulations and requirements
all for a little burn damage. Its effect, stats, or
requirements don't balance out the card so unless
you have to super broken consistent combo with it I
don't see it as anywhere playable.
