Blackwing-Blizzard the Far North, closes out the
week, and it's going to be short and sweet. We have
decent theme support for a respectable theme...that
hasn't quite completely taken off, but may after
another set or two...we'll see.
A Level 2, Winged-Beast type monster, who gets the
bonus of being a Tuner and oddly Dark
attributed...Blizzard, Bird...Wind, Water...but
Darwing, whatever...1300 attack, 0 defense...no
problems really, you just want the effect: Special
Summon a Level 4 or lower Blackwing monster from
your Graveyard in face-up defense postion when this
card is Normal Summoned.

Blackwing-Blizzard the Far North
Well, everybody is going to be reviewing this guy in
pretty much the same way, so it seems kinda
pointless to do a full review. He Special Summons
Blackwings, is a Tuner and does everything that they
like to do except o be Special Summoned. He is not
even a potent force in the Blackwing deck, usually
only being played in a singleton or in a pair. When
you can search for it so easy, you really don't need
to play more than that.
Usually this guy synchros up with a Blackwing of the
level 4 variety for a quic Synchro of Armed Wing or
Goyo Guardian. He does not negate their effects like
other Tuners that Special Summon, so you can even
get Gale back if you need to get a particular
monster dead.
That is pretty much Blizzard in a nutshell, he's
good at doing what he does and is a potent weapon in
the Blackwing Arsenal.

Today’s card up for review is the highly talked
about Blackwing-Blizzard the Far North. This guy is
wicked simply put! Simply put you can summon this
guy, grab a Level 4 from from your yard, and make a
Level 6 Synchro right there. You can also grab
something like Gale to help get rid of a threat on
the board, and possibly synchro after that,
depending on what the rest of your hand looks like.
Only downside is that you cannot special summon him,
but if you could, he would be utterly broken. Very
good card and a staple in Blackwings!

Blackwing - Blizzard
the Far North ...
As a Blackwing player, i'm kinda partial to this
card, although he's not all THAT great ... don't get
me wrong - he's PRETTY good ... just not fantastic.
1300 ATK ... meh. Forgivable. And fairly ok for a
Level 2 monster. He can deal damage if he has to.
Dark attribute? - awesome. We know. And his effect
of special summoning a level 4 or lower blackwing
monster is obviously excellent. Himself being a
Tuner, we all know what that sets up. So these are
all plusses.
But what takes points away is that his attack would
better if it was either higher OR lower ... that way
black whirlwind would work with this guy. Right now,
there are no blackwings with less than 1300 atk so
his normal summon does nothing to replenish your
hand. if he were a bit lower, then Gail's normal
summon could fetch him with whirlwind, making
Blizzard that much better.
Also, he only gets said effect when he's normal
summoned. That definitely balances him, but also
bringing out the special summoned monster in DEF
mode? awww ... man? ...
But he still rocks.

Well, today is my
birthday, hurray! And whats weird is today we look
at a card that is in my main deck, the mighty
Blackwing - Blizzard the Far North. Our fine
feathered friend is a 1300 attack level 2 tuner
monster that special summons 1 level 4 or lower
Blackwing monster from the graveyard in defense
position. A lot of the pro players only like to use
2 of these in their decks where as I like to use 3.
This being because I use cards like Ultimate
Offering as well, which combined with cards like
Dark Eruption allows for multiple Synchro Summons in
a single turn, who wouldn't like a Goyo Guardian and
2 or 3 Blackwing Armed Wings in one turn? The only
bad thing is it can't be special summoned but if it
could it'd kind of be rather stupid as most people
would want its effect.

This card is a Junk Synchron for Blackwings. The
things that make this card a little bit better is
the wider range of levels and you can use your
blackwing monsters effect(s). This is one of those
“you get something good for playing inside of the
theme” things and it's not that bad. Unfortunately
this card can't be special summoned so that limits
his potential in a swarm deck. He should be ran at
one at the most two but don't try to push it in
there because this a late game card.
