This was one of the major surprises of Crimson
Crisis. He was supposed to be a Super Rare, but was
downgraded to a common, which made players
everywhere rejoice. He is a 1900 ATK DARK Fiend
Tuner.
His effect is what makes this card playable. You
send an opponent's face-up Trap card to the
graveyard in order to Special Summon him. You cannot
Normal Summon him though, which is a nuisance.
However, he is very useful for killing Royal
Oppression and Royal Decree and that is about it.
It really can be extremely useful for breaking locks
that Lightsworn and Little CIty and anti-meta decks
will force upon you, but other than that he is not
very useful. I think that it is a great side deck
card, but not much more than that.
Traditional-3/5 (actually much more useful here,
Imperial Order is so strong...)

Trap Eater …
Here we have a simple yet interesting little monster
here … although I shouldn’t call him “little” … 1900
ATK is hardly anything to sneeze at! Add to the fact
that he’s 4 Stars, AND a Tuner, AND Dark, AND a
Fiend … these are all great things, so u think – Why
not? Right?
Well it’s quite simple really. The fact that he
can’t be special summoned except by sending 1
face-up trap of your opponents’ to the graveyard,
just totally takes the ball out of your hands …
which should almost NEVER be the case with a
monster. Gorz is the exception because his special
summon is based on something 99 out of 100 decks
will do if they get the chance – attack directly. Or
failing that – attempt to burn. Plus, if all else
fails – Gorz can still be normal=2 0or Special
summoned any other way.
So with Trap Eater, not only are u waiting for your
opponent to create a situation in which to special
summon your monster, but u are waiting for something
that just doesn’t happen much anymore. Seriously –
can u even REMEMBER the last time u saw a face-up
trap card during a duel that WASN’T Royal
Oppression? And even THAT's not a super common thing
u face on the reg. We can’t use Call of the Haunted
anymore, which Trap Eater would have been lovely for
… So just how often do u think you'll EVER get to
summon this thing during a given duel?
Yeah, exactly.
Maybe, if u want – u can side deck this guy in case
u come across someone playing Burn, Stall or Remove
from Play – decks that have a reliance upon a fair
amount of face-up trap cards. But if u seriously
Main deck him? … Well, you’re ASKING for it :)

N o V a
Trap Eater, this card
is very interesting but the way I see it, it's very
situational. It can't be normal summoned or set and
can only be special summoned by sending a continuous
trap your opponent controls to the graveyard. Now a
1900 level 4 tuner monster isn't a bad thing to
have, but a lot of competitve players would side out
their continous trap cards if Trap Eater became a
problem for them. So Trap Eater really would be best
played as a side deck card.
Its summoning requirement basically can turn it into
a dead draw if you draw it too early or too late. So
I suggest adding in some cards that can get you out
of having dead cards in your hand. Cards like Snipe
Hunter, Lightning Vortex and other various cards can
turn dead draws into possible advantage or just make
up for the fact you got a dead draw.
The card is a decent side deck card, but I think
there are better cards to side since the continous
traps people play are somewhat easy to get around
with other cards like Cold Wave and Solemn Judgment.

This card belongs in the side deck it
works well if your op has a faceup Royal Oppression
or Skill Drain etc...he is a tuner so that also
helps along with a 3star you can go for Dark Strike
Fighter and take the win or get a Stardust
Dragon,etc...He is also a dark so he can be allure'd.
