1 Tuner + 1 or
more non-Tuner monsters
Once per turn during your Main Phase, you can select
3 Equip Spell Cards from your Deck, have your
opponent pick 1 of them at random and add it to your
hand. Return the remaining cards to your Deck. If
this card would be destroyed while equipped with an
Equip Spell Card, you can send that card to the
Graveyard instead.

Power Tool Dragon continues the week, a Level 7
Synchro monster, and we have all ready covered my
dislike of Synchro monsters who are Level 7...who is
a Machine-type monster of the Earth attribute with
2300 attack (bad) and 2500 defense (odd but good).
Power Tool Dragon is Synchro Summoned with one Tuner
and one or more non-Tuner type monsters, so no
restrictions or requirements here, which is good.
Now, once per turn, during your Main Phase, you can
select three Equip Magic cards from your Deck.
Your opponent picks one at random, and that card is
added to your Hand, while the other two cards return
to your Deck. While this card is destroyed if it has
an Equip Magic card attached, you can send the Magic
card in question to the Graveyard instead.
I have never personally been all too fond of Equip
Magic cards, but Power Tool Dragon is screaming for
an Equip Deck, obviously with Machines to be built
around hiim. He's not so great now, but he could be
unlocked into something great I think.

Power Tool Dragon
They won't give us Arms Hole, so we get Power Tool
Dragon instead. This is a level 7 EARTH Dragon with
2300 ATK and 2500 DEF. As it is a Synchro it is
pretty good, and you can easily summon it using
shenanigans with Debris Dragon or any other things
that make level 7. The ATK and DEF are pretty bad,
but it's effect more than makes up for it.
Once per turn you can select 3 Equip Spells from
your deck. Your opponent chooses one randomly and
then you can add it to your end. Then if he would
die, you can destroy an Equip Spell equipped to him
instead. As you will be getting a free Equip each
turn this is harder to get around than it seems. I
would honestly not use this outside of e Ben Kei
deck. Basically you rush Synchro into this guy and
then pile all of your fre equips onto Ben Kei for a
massive multi-attacker.

Today’s card up for review is Power Tool Dragon.
It is kind of hard for me to review cards from
Raging Battle, since I haven’t had much time to
build and test, but looking at Power Tool I can see
that it has potential. The attack strength isn’t too
hot at first, but his effect of being able to grab
an equip card can certainly change that. So, if you
can keep him on the board, he will be a plus one
every turn. If you can get a decent build, I could
see a deck based around this card being competitive
some day.

Power Tool Dragon …
Is this guy any good? … well, kinda – Yeah!!
What makes him so? … well, at 1st glance a 2300 ATK
Synchro of 7 stars may not look like the BEST
investment of space in your extra deck … what with
all the other very useful level 7 Synchros available
… And he really ISN'T the best investment unless u
plan to be playing multiple equip spells in your
deck …
Over the years duelists have steered clear of equip
spells, due to the inherent fear of Heavy Storm and
all the other Spell & Trap clearers … If an S/T was
continuous in any form, it was considered high-risk,
and therefore inferior. It got people to put away
formerly awesome cards like Axe of Despair and
United We Stand. The only exception that started to
bring equips back was the rise of Ben Kai, but as
quickly as he was hot, he was gon e. If u haven’t
figured it out yet, Raging Battle is Konami’s
attempt to bring back the art of straight fighting.
Pure strength in great monsters. Knocking out all
the twists and fancy tricks that have become too
common place in today’s meta, and replacing it with
tough monsters pounding on each other. Rebirth to
the age of beatdown. And I, for one, welcome it!
How does Power Tool Equate? – well, u should have a
healthy crop of Equip spells floating around your
deck if u are playing this. Let’s assume u throw an
average equip spell that gives him something like an
800 ATK point boost. He is now at 3100, plus
whatever further benefits the equip has granted him.
That’s pretty heavy, but aside from the fact that u
got to pull said equip from your deck – what makes
PTD any better than any other monster with that
equip spell? The answer is the 2nd part of his
effect. While he’s equipped to something, he can’t
be destroyed. Not by battle. Not by ANYTHING.
Assuming he’s only got say 2 equips on him, u will
have to kill this guy 3 straight times before he
actually ever hits the graveyard. Now THAT is
staying power. It’s hard enough to kill big beaters,
especially as it draws closer to the end of the duel
and your best resources are probably already spent.
Try having to do it THRICE! Unless u can bounce him,
your quickest and best solution would be (if you’re
so lucky) to Heavy or Giant Trunade PTD’s equips in
one shot, and then kill him.
Power Tool Dragon rocks and deserves to have the
Ghost rare spot.

Today we move on to
possibly my favorite card from Raging Battle. Arms
Hole's minime, Power Tool Dragon. A level seven
Synchro monster that once per turn allows you to
select three Equip Spell Cards in your deck and your
opponent selects one of those at random and add it
to your hand and the remaining cards get returned to
the deck. Also if Power Tool Dragon would be
destroyed while equipped with an Equip Spell Card,
you can send that equip card to the graveyard
instead.
Now when you look at Equip Spell Cards that are
available to us that are worth using, there really
isn't many out there. In fact, the only equip card I
see still being used is D.D.R - Different Dimension
Reincarnation. And if you are only running three
equip cards in your deck, that limits your Power
Tool Dragon to one activation per duel to add an
equip card from your deck to your hand.
This card however would do amazingly well in
Guardian based decks, since the Guardian monsters
require specific equip cards to summon them and
Power Tool Dragon helps speed that up. In just about
any other top deck right now, Power Tool Dragon
can't do much.

Oh, Konami, you got us again! Nice one, honestly, it
was amazing how long you must've been planning this
one!
Konami Suit 1: I GOT IT! Right, we'll ban Snatch
Steal
Konami Suit 2: Right...
Konami Suit 1: Then, years later when they've
forgotten it, we'll ban Premature Burial
Konami Suit 3: O_O Where are you going with this, Mr
Suit1?
Konami Suit 1: Then the year after, we'll give them
a Synchro monster that thrives on good equip cards!
*Konami Suits 1, 2 and 3 burst into hysterics*
*slight pause*
Konami Suit 3: ...what's a Synchro monster?
Great prank mates! I love it!
But the joke is on you! What you didn't know was
that Konami Suit 2, or, to give his real name, Nigel
McGottaGiveThePlayersSomething, snuck in a couple of
nice equips to structure decks and Crossroads of
Chaos, namely D. D. R. - Different Dimension
Reincarnation and Mark of the Rose.
The point is...well, this is a level 7 Synchro that
gives Plants something other than Black Rose and
D.D.R.-using decks something other
than...something..., without having to go for an
early Dark Strike Fighter, and that has an effect
that is relevant to the decks. So, yeah, if you use
equips, you might as well slip him in your extra
deck, not as if you've got anything to lose by doing
so, right?
