Earthbound Immortal Ccarayhua
#SOVR-EN024 There can only be 1 face-up "Earthbound Immortal" monster on the field. If there is no face-up Field Spell Card on the field, destroy this card. Your opponent cannot select this card as an attack target. This card can attack your opponent directly. When this card is destroyed by a card effect, except by its own effect, destroy all cards on the field.

Earthbound Immortal Ccarayhua
This is one of the last of the Earthbound
Immortals, cards that little kids love to get their
paws on. WE have a level 10 DARK reptile with 2800
ATK and 1800 DEF. These are pretty bad stats, as the
two best immortals are The Hummingbird and Killer
Whale. Which have better types and stats in some
cases.
It has the standard EI text, which is too long to
write here again. It does have the nifty ability
that if something does happen to kill it, you
destroy everything else on the field. This is
actually a pretty bogus ability, as you will often
have more stuff than your opponent on the field
(field spells, protection etc.) and you will
actually lose cards when his ability goes off.
Basically, trade these off, the older 2, the
Hummingbird and Whale are far superior and even in
an EI deck I would only play those two guys.

Today’s card up for review is Earthbound Immortal
Ccarayhua. More Earthbound support, but where is the
Spell/Trap support? But anyways, I am not fond of
this card at all. The direct attack effect is cool,
but I don’t see the blow up the world effect going
off much, and even so, your board would be taking a
hit as well

Earthbound Immortal Ccarayhua …
Meh … another Earthbound Immortal with an
annoying name to pronounce …
It’s got the standard Earthbound Immortal effects
– it cannot be attacked, and can attack the
opponent’s lifepoints directly … It’s got a big 2800
ATK, so that’s nice. The good thing about these guys
is that they never have to go head to head with a
Blackwing or Lightsworn monster where your opponent
could have a loaded Kalut or Honest in their back
pocket to ruin your day … and his 2800 ATK can dish
out a beat down and end the game very quickly. But
his last effect – if he dies – he takes the field
with him … uhm, that’s nice, in theory … but chances
are, especially the longer he remains on the field,
it will hurt YOU more than your opponent. In trying
to kill him, they are probably exhausting all their
options on him anyway, so they might not have much
to lose. Although it does ensure that if your
opponent tries to snag him with a Bottomless or
Torrential when he’s summoned, they are most likely
gonna feel the hit too.
This guy isn’t bad … He’s not one of the BETTER
of the Immortals, but still better than some of the
others.

Last but not least, we end the week with
Earthbound Immortal Ccarayhua. Now, this card is a
iffy card considering that Chacu Challhua and Aslla
Piscu are the best Earthbound Immortals out there.
However Ccarayhua has uses, but I mainly only see it
in any Alien deck. Aliens benefit from a field spell
we got in Ancient Prophecy, Ancient Forest. Gol'Gar
returns it to the hand and you can attack freely
then reactivate Ancient Forest during Main Phase 2
and make it so your opponent loses any monster he or
she tries to attack with. Attacking with Ccarayhua
and destroying it with Ancient Forest, and because
Ccarayhua is destroyed by a card effect, it takes
all other cards on the field with it. You can do the
same thing with Offering to the Snake Diety,
destroying Ccarayhua and targeting two other cards,
then destroying every other card on the field cause
Ccarayhua was destroyed by an effect. 2800 attack
and 1800 defense makes it pretty solid. Outside of
alien decks, I don't think Ccarayhua is very
playable.

Earthbound Immortal Ccarayhua:
I'm not a
big fan of the earthbound immortals, but if I were
going to use them, I would be using this guy for
sure. Maybe even 3 of him. His atk is
going to stop pretty much everything, outside of an
honest/kalut boost, so the most obvious route would
be some sort of destruction effect. Your
opponent wouldn't want to destroy him if they have
cards committed to the field, and after they have
rid themselves of him, they would be hesitant to
commit much in fear of his return. That sounds
like a movie preview... but I digress. Of
course, many cards can do the trick of removing him
from the field without his effect
activating (anybody got a D.E.D.?). Brionic
can send him back to hand, as can Compulsory
Evacuation Device. Of course one could also
just destroy which ever field spell is out and that
takes care of him easily enough, which is why I
don't like Earthbound Immortals.
