Majestic Star Dragon
#SOVR-EN040 "Majestic Dragon" + "Stardust Dragon" + 1 non-Tuner monster
You can Tribute this card to negate the activation of an opponent's Spell Card, Trap Card, or Effect Monster's effect and destroy all cards your opponent controls. Once per turn, you can negate the effect(s) of 1 face-up monster your opponent controls until the End Phase. Also, if the negated effect can be activated, you can activate it once as this card's effect. During the End Phase, return this card from the field to the Extra Deck, and Special Summon 1 "Stardust Dragon" from your Graveyard.

Wednesday
This was supposed to be my Friday card for the
week, but then we ended up with a three day week,
but it's still a good way to end the week.
Stardust Dragon is awesome, but now we have an even
bigger, more powerful, and eye-blindingly beautiful
Dragon...
Majestic Star Dragon, a Level 10, Wind attributed
Synchro, who has 3800 attack (which is awesome, even
for Level 10) and 3000 defense (which is equally
awesome) and Synchro Summoend specifically by
Majestic Dragon + Stardust Dragon + 1 Non-Tuner
monster.
Let's talk about the Synchro Summon for a
moment...three monsters isn't such a problem, BUT
two of them are specific, in the form of Majestic
and Stardust Dragon specifically. Also, you can't
add one or more non-Tuner monsters, you also have to
use ONE non-Tuner monster.
Anyway, assuming you successfully pull off this
Synchro Summon, which actually might happen once in
a while, you have one hell of a Dragon on your
Field, and there is likely NO stopping it. You can
Tribute Majestic Star Dragon to negate the
activation of an opponent's card (Monster, Magic, or
Trap, or Effect Monster's Effect) and destroy ALL
cards your opponent controls. Nice Field clearing
effect considering the summoning requirements
here...
Once per turn, you can negate the effect(s) of a
face-up Monster your opponent controls, until the
End Phase, which is also a nice built in form of
protection. Yet, better than that, you can use this
cards effect to activate the effect you negated as
this cards effect...
Now, as unfair as it may seem, Majestic Star
Dragon returns to the Extra Deck during the End
Phase, but you can replace it with your Stardust
Dragon from your Graveyard, via Special Summon. In
short, this is one beastly card, and 3800 attack
isn't something to ignore...if you can pull of the
Synchro Summon, you better be winning that turn.

Majestic Star Dragon
This is the poster child for the set, and it is
really something else. It is a level 10 WIND DRAGON
that is packing 3800 ATK and 3000 DEF, which is
certainly nice. The ATK will take down just about
anything and the DEF will survive just about
anything. However, it needs 2 Specific cards to
Synchro with, one of which is a Synchro itself,
Stardust Dragon! This makes the card virtually
unplayable at all already, but the effect is rather
cool, so I will still go over that.
You can tribute Majestic Star to negate the
activation of one of your opponents spell or trap
cards or monster effects and destroy all cards they
control. Also, once per turn you can negate the
effect of an opponent's monster, and then use it as
part of Majestic Star's effect if it can be
activated. Then at the End Phase, you return it to
the Extra Deck and you get your Stardust Dragon back
from your graveyard.
Ideally Stardust itself is better, but I suppose in
a deck ABSOLUTELY dedicated to getting this card
out, it MIGHT work. The End Phase returning thing
really hurts it a lot. Also the fact that if you DO
tribute it for it's effect, you get no extra
Stardust back. If it did not return to the extra
deck at the end of the turn, it could be incredibly
powerful and I would have found a way around the
Synchro requirements.
As it stands, this is just a fun card that is rather
pretty to look at and nothing more. If you like big
Stardust Dragons and their upgrades, I would try out
Assault Mode instead. It negates anything and then
comes back, doesn't have that much less ATK, is much
easier to get out and brings Stardust Dragon back
when it does, ah, bite the dust.

Majestic Star Dragon …
Ewww … yeah … It’s got a lot of words on it … and
it’s the cover of the booster pack … and it’s
Yusei’s card, right? … So it should at least be ok,
right? …
Well, what COULD make this card ok is if it
wasn’t so damn hard to summon, for starters … its
not impossible, or the HARDEST card to get out … but
it doesn’t get done without a bit of investment in
making your deck functional in that direction. And
is it worth it? … No. It is not.
I’m not even going to talk about its super high
attack. Its problem is that it can only stay out for
1 turn, and then its gone. If MSD had an effect that
could actually END the game on the turn that it came
out, then maybe an argument could be made. But it
doesn’t.
It can tribute itself to negate the activation of
a spell, trap, or effect monster and destroy all
cards your opponent controls. Awesome, but
considering all the crap u did to get it to the
field in the first place, why would u want to DO
that??? U want to clear the field? – u grab Black
Rose. MSD can also negate the effect of an
opponent’s face-up monster and steal it’s effect ….
Kinda cool. But again – it only last for 1 turn and
then MSD is gone. What’s the point?
I’m sure there are tricks for extending its stay
on the field … but ... yeah, forget it. Not worth it
at all.
