Monday
I'm back after missing the last couple weeks, I'm
trying to deal with some stuff for graduate school.
Anyway, XX-Saber Faultroll opens the week, a Level
6, Warrior type, Earth attributed monster with 2400
attack (shocking) and 1800 defense.
Now, Faultroll seems pretty appropriate, as this guy
is full of fault.
First, you can't Normal Summon or Set Faultroll, and
worse yet, you can only Special Summon him if you
control two or more face-up X-Saber monsters. Why is
it two monsters? That essentially makes this a two
tribute monster as they need to be on the Field.
One would make more sense, but it's not that great
of a fit, even in the only place it would supposedly
belong. You can Special Summon a Level 4 or lower
X-Saber monster once per turn, but again, only from
your Graveyard. Not your Hand, not your Deck, or any
combination of the sort. Junk...absolute junk.
Ratings:
1/5 both formats

New week means new
reviews, and with the recent Shonen Jump over and
done with, well it feels good to be doing reviews.
We're starting this week off with one of the "Saber"
monsters, XX-Saber Faultroll. For the most part and
simply put, this is a slightly better version of
Guardian of Order but strictly for X-Saber decks.
2400 attack points is pretty decent and its other
ability to special summon 1 level 4 or lower X-Saber
monster from your graveyard makes it pretty easy for
X-Saber players to swarm the field. Is it just me or
does it somewhat seem like we keep getting different
new themes very very similar to Six Samurai? From
Six Samurai we get Blackwings and now X-Sabers are
even somewhat similar. X-Sabers are 2nd in line for
whos the best out of the three. Blackwings proved
they are better than Six Samurais at the Shonen Jump
this weekend and so that puts them on top as they've
placed high at multiple jumps since their release.
Faultroll is a must in any X-Saber deck but it can
be a dead card if you cant summon it due to the fact
it cant be normal summoned or set on the field,
which is quite the hassle. In X-Saber decks though
it helps get out Gottoms which is also useful.
Tuning Airbellum to it for Gottoms is always fun. A
rather interesting thing to do would be to summon
Rescue Cat, summon 2 Airbellum, drop 2 Faultroll and
go for double Gottoms.

Today’s card up for
review is XX-Saber Faultroll. This is a staple in
the Saber deck and for good reason. The entire deck
can create huge swarms, and tear your opponents hand
away, and it is all because of this guy. Just
summoning Rescue Cat and popping to grab 2 of your
guys from the deck, or flipping Gottom’s Emergency
Call will allow you to get this guy out. It is now a
waiting game as for when the deck will take off, but
I think it needs some more support, so we will see
with the upcoming sets. The deck is certainly fun,
so try the deck out, and be sure to pick up 3 copies
