This is a fun looking card, just starting with that.
Release Restraint Wave fits the playable Tech
category, but also the won't be played because of my
cost category. You can destroy a face-up Equip Magic
card you control and destroy it to destroy all set
Magic and Trap cards your opponent has.
So, unless you destroy at least two cards, you won't
even break even.
Furthermore, how often do you have a face-up Equip
Magic card?

Today’s card up for
review is Release Restraint Wave. Who doesn’t like a
Feather Duster like effect? Only real problem I see,
which is big, is the lack of equip cards in the
game. Even if there was good equips in the game, I
don’t think this card would be that great. The game
is too advanced for Equips right now. This card will
have potential, and that is it for now. If the game
slows down a little, then equip decks could be
decent again

Release Restraint Wave
...
Meh ... this card is ... Wellll .... It does
something, and it does something VALUABLE. Spell and
Trap destruction is always a very welcome commodity.
And the more 1-sided, the better. But this thing
comes with a cost AND a drawback. You have to first
have an Equip spell card in play. Most people play
with few to NO equips at all to begin with. I
suppose you could use that 4-star Synchro monster to
shortcut that. But why would u want to? And then u
have to destroy it to get RRW's effect. Right there,
already, its not really worth the trouble. And next,
the drawback is that it only tags SET spells and
traps. This being a normal spell card, its as slow
as can be, and all your opponent has to do is chain
to its activation and any of their now faceup cards
should be fine.
Yeah, this one is kinda easy.

Its the end of the
week ladies and gents. We're actually going to look
at a common card that deserves the foil treatment.
Yes this card is based on equip spell cards but it
only makes an old deck better. Ben Kei OTK was quite
the big thing but didnt always have a way around the
opponents back row. Hoping to pull Heavy Storm, Ben
Kei and equip spells in your opening hand was always
asking too much. Sending an equip spell to the
graveyard that you control to destroy all set spell
and traps your opponent has is pretty good. Heck its
not much different from Harpies Feather Duster. Only
difference is face up spells and traps survive. With
so many equip spell cards out there, somehow I think
Ben Kei decks are still surviving out there, and
with the release of more and more potential equip
spells, its possible that with Hidden Armory and
Release Restraint Wave, Ben Kei will only get
better. Only flaw to Restraint Wave is a lot of
people run chainable cards but thats the same draw
back to Heavy Storm really.
