Saber Slash, sounds like something that came out of Power Rangers...you destroy a number of cards on the Field equal to the number of face-up Attack Position "X-Saber" monsters you control.

Now, realistically, you break even card wise if you have one...you give up this card, and destroy one. Most likely your opponent's, as hopefully you don't have to destroy your own card(s). Reasonably, X-Saber's are pretty easy to summon.

At any random time in the game, you are probably going to have two to four X-Sabers on the Field at a time, obviously probably pending the very beginning, or maybe the very end of a match. Probably two or three is more realistic, which makes this card that much better.

Today’s card up for review is Saber Slash. This card is staple in the X-Saber deck. The whole deck is built to swarm like crazy, so why not use 1 or two copies of this card? You don’t even need to have multiple monsters on the field for it to do it’s job. At worst case, it’s a 1 for one, and best is a +4. Simply put, if you use Sabers, you use this card

Saber Slash …

This card is as good as it looks … which, if u are blind, is pretty good! It’s quite simple, and one of the most handy tools the X-Sabers have at their disposal. Destroy a number of face-up cards equal to the number of ATK position X-Sabers u’ve got. Easy? Well, yeah, except it has to be face-up cards. So inactive traps are safe. So are your opponent’s face down monsters. And if u have more than say 2 or 3 face-up X-sabers, u have to remember that u must destroy the exact same number of cards that u have in ATK position. Therefore, u may have to switch some monsters into DEF mode in order to compensate for your opponent’s lack of targets on the field ... or u can also destroy some of your OWN cards to make up the difference, need be ...

It’s one of those cards that can quickly help u get back into the duel if u are losing … but doesn’t do much to secure u if u are already winning.

If u play X-Sabers – play 1 or 2 of these … just in case.

Saber Slash is one of the must cards for an X-Saber deck, as you can see from its effect. Its pretty much a Smashing Ground. Course theres a slight difference, it can hit more than one card and it can hit spells and traps so long as they are face up. Royal Decree, Royal Oppression, Skill Drain and a few others are examples of cards that people still use that are possible targets for Saber Slash. As I said its a must for Saber decks, its similar to Smashing Ground though you pick your target and you can hit more than one card.

Field nukes are so great in our current metagame. So today we are reviewing Saber Slash. This card is pretty much a watered down icarus attack for X Sabers. It has it's ups and downs. First of all you may only destroy face up cards which makes it so you cannot nuke their backrows unless they are face up. This card is still good because it is not hard to get many X Sabers on the field so you can blow up all or almost all of their monsters easily. Great monster removal for X Sabers and good for when you are going for game or just when you can't get over their monster or clearing the way for a discard. As you can see this card is good in many situations. Run 2 in your X Saber deck.

Saber Slash

Here we have Saber Slash, Today's Card of the Day.

Destroy a number of face-up cards on the field equal to the number of face-up Attack Position "X-Saber" monsters you control.

Hey I like this card. Saber slash is a normal spell with quite a bit of potential. I consider saber slash a pretty good card for one big reason, it doesn't target. That means it can get around card like Arkus, the lightsworn Druid and Tytannial. Its pretty effective at switching advantage if you can get out a few x-sabers quickly. Swarm with Gardestrike, Faultroll and Airbellum and this sucker becomes as good as a  lightning vortex. Obviously this card is only meant for x-sabers, and can't be played in anything else. For X-sabers I consider this a near staple and can definitely see this card becoming better as X-sabers continue to get support.

Advance: Casual 4/5 only in x-sabers, Competitive 3/5

Art: Faultroll slashing Chain burst? Its cool 3/5
