Dark Paladin
Thursday

Colossal Fighter, a very powerful Warrior Synchro monster at Level 8 with 2800 attack, yet a very miserable 1000 defense points. Colossal Fighter is Synchro Summoned by 1 Tuner and one or more non-Tuner monsters.

Now, first, this isn't one of your splashable Synchro monsters really, as he really needs other Warriors and more or less his own Deck in order to properly thrive. He gains 100 attack for every Warrior-type monster in either Graveyard, and when destroyed, Special Summon a Warrior-type monster from either Graveyard.

Certainly good, but again, you're probably looking at only your OWN Graveyard. You can build a nasty Deck around this guy, and while he isn't the most powerful or game braeking Synchro monster, he's still decent.

Ratings:

Traditional: 2/5 Dark after all
Advanced: 3/5 for reasons listed above

Colossal Fighter …

I feel like we’ve reviewed this guy before … So I’m not going to go way too into him, as he hasn’t exactly changed much since the last time. He’s good but easily forgotten. He was so easy to acquire at the onset of the Synchros being introduced to the game, I think it’s what in part makes people take him for granted. As for pure ATK strength, he can quite easily pass that 3000 ATK marker that some of the best Synchros already carry. His flaw is that he doesn’t do much else OTHER than have that huge attack strength. He’s got the resurrection effect if he’s destroyed by battle, but that’s often a moot point in that if he grows incredibly strong (as u’d hope he would) ur opponent would have trouble killing him in battle anyway, so would resort to a spell, trap, or monster effect. Thus, u never get to use his 2nd ability.

So the verdict is – he’s ok. He’s got all the muscle with none of the finesse. If its down the stretch and u need to either put your opponent away with 1 hit, or your opponent has something in ATK range of Archfiend Dragon on the field and u have to fight over it? – Then Colossal Fighter is a great choice. But if u still have plenty of game left to manage, with no quick win in sight? Use the 8 stars of Synchro power to build something better … maybe something that rhymes with “Farplust Cragon”? …

Colossal FIghter continues the weeks Card of the Day today. Solid stats with a really good effect. It gets 100 attack points for each Warrior in any graveyard and when its destroyed in battle, you can special summon ANY Warrior type monster from either players graveyard, that includes Colossal Fighter himself. Now this card doesn't have much that needs to be said about it, but you also gotta keep looking at his Warrior ressurection. I've noticed a lot of the boss monsters as I call them, have roughly 2800 attack or higher, being able to withstand an attack from them is pretty good, since you have an unbeatable force. Its main drawback is just the same as most monsters and thats being prone to card effects, mainly Phoenix Wing Wind Blast, Bottomless Trap Hole and many others. Long review short, its a good Synchro monster to have in any deck with its high stats and amazing effect.

Colossal Fighter-

Colossal Fighter, compared to Dark End Dragon, represents the shift to advantage that Synchros now require. Basically, with the game is now, you want to commit cards to Synchro monsters that generate card advantage like DeD or Arcanite Magician. Monsters like Colossal Fighter and Stardust Dragon that used to dominate the field are far too vulnerable now.

Having said that, since this is an extra card deck it’s obviously a one of in everyone’s extra.
