You can Special
Summon this card from your hand in face-up Attack
Position. If you do, return this card and 1 face-up
monster your opponent controls to the hand during
the End Phase of your opponent's next turn. You can
only control 1 face-up "Jester Confit".

All right, this will be more interesting than my
actual review, as this card isn't much better than
yesterday. Anyway, I didn't know what a "Confit"
was, so I looked it up. For those who don't know, "Confit"
is a type of food, usually a meat (duck, goose, etc)
specifically cooked to preserve flavor(s) and
itself. So, is this guy supposed to be a piece of
meat? I think not, maybe a chef with the strange
hat? We might be getting closer.
Now, here, we have another 0 attack and defense
monster, who can return himself (and one monster
your opponent controls) to your respective hands
during the End Phase of your opponent's turn (next
turn, that is) and only if you Special Summon this
car in face-up Attack position.
Also, you can only control one of these face-up.
It's not really worthwhile, and I wouldn't play this
either...but it IS slightly better than yesterday.

Jester Confit
In French Confit means crystallized, or at least
that' swhat babbel fish says. Anyway, the card is a
level 1 DARK Spellcaster with 0 ATK and 0 DEF. Sound
familiar? Yeah. Yesterday's Jester did not turn out
so great. This guy is not even better in the stats
department. Fortunately, stats are not the only
thing this guy has going for it. The effect is what
you really want.
The effect is that you can Special Summon it in
attack position. This is the more relevant effect,
as you will likely use this as the last star for a
Synchro Summon or as a Tribute for a Monarch. There
are very few monsters that can Special Summon
themselves, without a condition existing on the
field. Gilasaurus was one of the better ones.
Anyway, typically this littl eguy will be used as
Monarch fodder.
The second effect is less relevant, but helps to get
rid of a big Synchro monster if that is all you
have. You can return him and one othe rmonster your
opponent controls to the hand during the End Phase
of your opponent's next turn. If it was your turn,
this card would be limited, as it will get rid of
any big and hard to get to the field monster that
there is and even slow down an opponent so much that
they give up out of frustration.
As it is, this is a solid little card. It will not
be winning games for you, but will usually do enough
to set up for other cards to go ahead and win you
the game.

Wednesday's Card of the Day is our other jester
friend, Jester Confit. Unlike its counterpart,
Jester Confit is much better. Without any draw back,
Jester Confit can be special summoned to the field
in attack position. Now the rest of his effect isn't
so important since Jester Confit more than likely
wouldn't last till the end of your opponents end
phase. Being able to special summon itself however,
it adds a free level for Synchro Summoning, as well
as provides free tribute fodder for Monarch players
and so on. If Crush Card was still around too, it'd
be an excellent target for Crush Card. You can also
add it back to your hand with Recurring Nightmare if
you use more monsters than just Jester Confit with 0
defense that are DARK attributed. I can see Monarch
players using this card, but not many other decks
using it.

Jester Confit ...
This card does 2 things, but does only 1 perfectly.
Like yesterday's card - 0 ATK & DEF - making it
searchable by virtually any means imaginable. It's
Dark attribute rocks at this point without anyone
who plays the game needing an explanation as to why.
But what makes Jester Confit a great card? - It's
very 1st sentence, and only that. You can basically
skip the 2nd line after, as its completely a waste.
Special summon this monster from your hand. What
more could u want? Doesn't need to be during any
particular phase. Doesnt matter what else u have on
the field. Monsters ... Traps ... what your Opponent
is controlling or not ... Don't have to remove
anything from play to do it ... Just special summon
him. He's weak, but it doesnt matter. U aren't
special summoning him to fight with him. U do it to
tribute him, no muss, no fuss, for what u REALLY
want on the field, without having to wait a turn to
do it. A Monarch, quite often. Or creature swap him,
and then do your REAL summon. Whatever. This very
simple ability is quite close to incredible, and I
think JC is gonna turn out to be the hidden gem of
Ancient Sanctuary. If they didn't have the last line
("you can only control 1 face up Jester Confit") -
this card would be beyond rediculous of what it
could do. Regardless ... I'm anticiapting him as a
new addition to the Limited list soon enough.
