I hope everyone enjoyed their Labor Day, and we open
this week up with Dark End Dragon, essentially the
weaker, Darker, watered down Synchro version of
Light and Darkness Dragon. Now, while Light and
Darkness Dragon doesn't see the play at all that it
did 1-2 years ago, it's still far better than this
card.
Why? Well, Dark End Dragon is a Level 8 Synchro with
2600 attack, which isn't terrible, and 2100 defense,
which is equally not terrible.
Dark End Dragon is Synchro Summoned with 1 Tuner and
one or more non-Tuner Dark monsters...not a huge
restriction, but could be annoying none-the-less.
Now, once per turn you can have this card lose 500
attack and defense and send one monster your
opponent controls to the Graveyard. The fact this is
optional is good, but unless you're destroying
something damn awesome, and winning about that turn,
it's not worth it.
That all ready drops you to a monster with only 2100
attack, and 1600 defense, if that part matters.
Light and Darkness Dragon is better, has more and
better abilities, more attack, and while requiring
two tributes instead of a Synchro Summon, I just
don't like Dark End Dragon.

Labor Day weekend is
up and so life goes on with more reviews, and we'll
start this week with the current Shonen Jump
Championship card, Dark End Dragon. Dark End Dragon
was originally released in Japan's Limited Edition
set with its counter part Light End Dragon and the
other 2 monsters that were used to bring the two
dragons out. Dark End Dragon however is the better
of the two, big shocker there right? But seriously,
Dark End Dragon is a level 8 Synchro monster that
needs a Dark non-Tuner monster with the Tuner to
summon it, and once a turn it can take 500 attack
and defense from itself to send a monster your
opponent controls to the graveyard. Now, this is
really good for the sole fact that this card really
doesn't have to attack to take out any monster your
opponent controls. Since Dark End Dragon has a
similar weakness when it comes to decreasing its
attack, as that of Light and Darkness Dragon. Since
its stats cant really be divided up by five, you
have a limited amount of usage, and since you have
to decrese its defense as well, you only have 4
times you can use Dark End Dragons ability. Now,
thats enough to wipe out all monsters your opponent
controls since more times than not no player has 5
monsters on their field during any game unless its
like Scapegoat with another monster or something.
Dark End Dragons ability could literally mean the
end of the duel if the player with Dark End Dragon
has the right field or if the opponents life points
are just too low and easy to take out. Overall this
card is quite the beast and if ever reprinted, its a
must in any deck to use at least 1.

Dark End Dragon ...
Do I love this card? Yes, I do. What's not to love?
2600 ATK on an 8 Star Synchro? Well, that aint the
best, but its still pretty aight, and his effect
more than makes up for it. Lose 500 ATK & DEF, and
send one monster your opponent controls to the
graveyard. Lovely. What's best about that is the
specific wording used. "Send", not "Destroy". So
that wipes out all those immunities that some of
those pesky monsters have to destruction techniques,
as well as spells and traps that prevent them.
He's strong, he's Dark, and he safely removes
obstacles. Plus he's not TOO too finicky with his
synchro requirement as some Synchro monsters tend to
be these days ... So DED is pretty gangsta.
