Dandylion, a card I'm fairly surprised we haven't gotten around to reviewing.  The card, in itself, is rather unremarkable.  A Level 3, Earth attributed, Plant, with 300 attack and defense, but Dandylion is obviously priceless for what it can do.  (He I think?)

When sent to the Graveyard, by any effect, discard, destruction, your doing, your opponent's doing, you Special Summon two Fluff Tokens (Plant-type, Wind attribute, Level 1, 0 attack and defense) to the Field.  The Tokens can be used for Tribute, but not in the turn they are Special Summoned.

Odds are, especially if you want to tribute them, you're not going to do this during your turn.  Dandylion is a lot of fun, and fairly versatile as it (he?) pops up more often than not, in a variety of Decks.

Dandylion ...

First off - I'm still reeling from getting DESTROYED by some dude's Lightsworn deck at Shonen Jump in Jersey this past weekend ... Kudos to YOU, sir!

Next, I find it hard to believe that this card wasn't reviewed up until now ... But whatevz. It's a great card. Easy. One of those cards that does what it does, and does it just about better than any other card that does it. Whenever it gets sent to the graveyard - from anywhere, anyhow, anytime - u get 2 tokens. Preferably, this occurs on your opponent's turn, so u will hopefully have 2 tokens to tribute summon on your next, because of that semi-restrictive last sentence in the card effect. However - its not a HUGE detriment - not being able to tribute with the tokens on the turn they are created. U can do other things with them ... Use them for Synchro summoning, for instance, which is always a popular choice ...

I dont know what else to say about this card. It's just great, and u have to try hard to NOT find a million and one uses for it.

Sorry these are late, got caught up in keeping up with the SJC...

Dandylion:

Why this card went to semi-restricted I will never know, but THANKS!  Seriously though this card helps make the deck that just won SJC New Jersey (Quickdraw DandyWarrior) such a powerhouse.  First off it's easy to get to via Lonefire Blossom and Sangan and this card creates amazing advantage through its simple effect.  This card goes to the graveyard, you get 2 tokens.  It works in SO many situations... foolish burial it, set it and let it get attacked, revive it with Debri Dragon, use it in the above mentioned Drill Warrior loop... and that's (drill warrior) what is going to get it restricted again or banned on the next list.  The Drill Warrior loop is so ridiculous, and now that a deck using it has topped a major tournament, the deck is going to be everywhere... Konami will take notice, and most likely restrict Quickdraw and Dandylion.  It's unfortunate, but with Drill Warrior out there, likely necessary.  After reading the coverage of the SJC yesterday, it was the only deck that could match the resource war with gadgets, and to an extent actually outclassed them at their own game.  If you aren't returning your gadgets to the deck via Scrap Recycler/etc. then eventually you run out of cards to search for.  Whereas Dandylion can be used over and over again with Drill Warrior until it's removed from play by your opponent (and the odds of that are slim unless they drop a Caius or main deck Kycoo / D.D. Crow- which I saw like 2 people use yesterday).  Dandylion is a nice, simple card with heavy potential for abuse.

Traditional:  4.0
Advanced:  4.5  (It's power lies in what it can do with other cards, therefore a perfect score of 5 seemed unfair.)

Dandylion, the lion that could, made a huge impact this past weekend at Shonen Jump Championship Edison, NJ. Dandylion is a card that can be used in various decks, more popular decks being Monarchs, Lightsworns and Quickdraw varaiants. Quickdraw being the one that came out above all at Edison. When its sent to the graveyard, you are given 2 Fluff tokens which provides tokens that you can tribute off later on. Opening doors for high level monsters like Light and Darkness Dragon, Caius the Shadow Monarch and various others. The tokens also provide free synchro material. Dandylion is a monster that is highly abused by Debris Dragon, a tuner monster that revives a monster with 500 or less attack from the graveyard and negates its effect, but cannot synchro summon with the other material monster being a level 4. Lucky for most players, Dandylion is a level 3 monster. Opening doors for various synchro summons. Black Rose Dragon and Ancient Fairy Dragon are popular for level 7 Dragon-Type synchro monsters, but you can revive Dandylion while having at least 1 Fluff token on the field, providing more than one monster as a synchro material, while still equaling level 8, opening plays with Stardust Dragon and Red Dragon Archfiend. Dandylion is a highly playable card now, and if you like some of the decks mentioned above, Dandylion will certainly help you with your strategy.
