Hundred-Eyes Dragon
#JUMP-EN039 1 DARK Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner Fiend-Type monsters
Once per turn, you can activate this card's effect by removing from play 1 Level 6 or lower DARK Effect Monster from your Graveyard. Until the End Phase, treat this card's name as that monster's name, and this card gains the same effects as that monster while face-up on the field. When this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, add 1 "Earthbound Immortal" monster from your Deck to your hand.

Friday
Right off the bat, I want to say, that as good as
Hundred-Eyes Dragon is/may be, it really is going to
waste if you aren't playing an Earthbound Immortal
Decktype...anyway, we have a Level 8, Dark
attributed, Dragon Synchro monster, with 3000 attack
and 2500 defense...no problems there.
Hundred-Eyes Dragon is Synchro Summoned with one
Dark Tuner and one or more non-Tuner, Fiend-type
monsters. Now where did we hear the following
this week...Once per turn you can remove one Level 6
or lower Dark Effect monster from yoru Graveayrd.
Until the End Phase, Hundred-Eyes Dragon gains the
monsters name and Effect(s) while face-up on the
Field.
If all that isn't enough for you, when destroyed and
sent to the Graveayrd, add one "Earthbound Immortal"
monster from your Deck to your Hand.
Hundred-Eyes Dragon IS one hell of a Synchro
monster, and while you obviously don't need to be
playing Earthbound Immortal, it doesn't hurt here, I
guess.

Finishing off this week
is Kallens key monster from the Dark Signer season,
Hundred-Eyes Dragon. Now at first glance this thing
seems really hard to summon. Its not. You can easily
synchro summon this in Dark World decks. Because
Dark World monsters are Fiends, and for a DARK tuner
you can use Dark Resonator, before Tragoedia was
limited, you could use Tragoedia to copy a level 6
monster in your graveyard to make it a level 6 and
tune Krebons into Tragoedia for Hundred-Eyes Dragon.
Once a turn you can remove a level 6 or lower dark
monster from your graveyard and it gets that name
and it gains the same effects as the removed
monster. Should you be using this in a deck that
uses Earthbound Immortals, it allows free access to
any Earthbound Immortal in your deck when its
destroyed and sent to the graveyard. Hundred-Eyes
Dragon is actually quite the powerful card if used
correctly.

Hundred-Eyes Dragon:
The Synchro requirements for this card seem a bit odd
for a Dragon synchro monster with ties to the
Earthbound Immortals... a deck that usually doesn't
need or focus on synchro monsters anyway. I
don't use EBIs and probably never will, I'm not a
big fan of the archetype, so if I miss something for
this card forgive me. Why require a fiend
monster and a dark tuner monster? Seems like a
lot of work for a card that isn't really all that
great anyway. This card just seems oddly out
of place for Earthbound Immortal support. The
search effect is nice, but I don't know if it would
warrant trying to work in tuners and the fiends
needed to get this guy to the field. If your
EBI deck was working without this guy, I wouldn't
bother trying to put him in.

Friday: Hundred-Eyes
Dragon
Synchro monsters, once upon a time, were very
difficult to review because most Extra decks had
room for all of them. Unfortunately, this is no
longer the case. Duelists must now make genuine and
difficult decisions about which monsters to include.
Hundred-Eyes Dragon is an interesting Synchro
monster that clearly requires a deck-based around it
to function. You can't simply splash DARK tuners and
Fiends into any deck. Its effect is powerful enough
so there's not much to say about this card. You
can't splash it, but run it if you want to use a
deck based around it.
