Scrap Archfiend, could be the first non-effect
Synchro monster we have reviewed ever, but I didn't
go back and check. We have a terrifying looking
(like some kind of evil Iron Giant) mechanical,
Level 7, Earth type Synchro, with 2700 attack and
1800 defense.
Now here's the beauty of this particular monster,
and most Scrap Synchro monsters, the Synchro Summon
is simply perfromed by a Tuner and
1 or more non-Tuner monsters. So for no effect, you
get the easiest 2700 attack Synchro ever. Level 7 is
workable, as only a Level 3 Tuner is required and a
Level 4 monster, or vice versa, so two cards is
good.
If you're playing Scrap you're very likely to be
playing Scrap Archfiend, but at the same time, you
very well may not be...

3/5 for reasons listed above

Scrap Archfiend
Now, unlike yesterday's card, this guy is actually
not bad, even though he is a Synchro without an
effect. Scrap Archfiend is a level 7 EARTH Fiend
with 2700 ATK and 1800 DEf. These stats are amazing
for this card level. It is the strongest generic
level 7 Synchro, making a deck that Synchros to
level 7 a lot happy as they can now get over
Stardust Dragon without having to gamble with
Acnient Fairy in DEF position.
As it stands, this guy could see some table time as
just a fairly solid beater at the easiest level to
Synchro to. However, he is now competeing with the
newly unleashed Black Rose Dragon, which is pretty
much the best level 7 we have at the moment. but
there is still a chance that he can shine.
Since he is both a Scrap monster as well as an
Archfiend, he can take advantage of both of those
archetypes support systems, but they just aren't
going to help the car out that much. As it stands,
effectless monsters tendto be underused in the TCG,
so I think that he is going to be as well. I do see
him being a tech card in a deck that is missing one
Synchro and makes level 7 monsters a lot.

Scrap Archfiend …
Well there isn’t all that much special about this
guy, but it’s his basic stats that make him awesome.
Namely being a level 7 Sycnhro Dark Fiend with no
special restrictions on him, and having that big ol’
2700 ATK. Goyo Guardian pulls off the miracle 2800
ATK with only 6 stars to his name, but the level 7
Synchros don’t have a huge amount of heavy hitting
options when all u need is muscle … Thus, Scrap
Archfiend stepped onto the stage.
The only downside to him is that right now, he’s
as good as he’ll ever be, unless they start building
all sorts of weird support and extras for him, like
they have for Stardust or something. In the future,
they will only be making more level 7 Synchros with
big ATKs, but these will have actual effects to
them, reducing the significance of Scrap Archfiend.
But until then? – U should definitely find a spot in
your extra deck for him.
