Dark Paladin |
Wightmare, a Level 1, Zombie type, Dark attribute
monster, these are all reasonably good things.
300 attack and 200 defense, are crap, in short, and
this guy isn't even a Tuner, and it's hard to think
many low Level, non-Tuner monsters have much
playability, isn't it.
Now, while in the Graveyard, this monster's name is
treated as Skull Servant. you can discard this
card to activate one of these two effects...Select a
removed Skull Servant or Wightmare and return it to
your Graveyard. Or second, you can select a
removed The Lady in Wight or King of the Skull
Servants, and Special Summon it.
This is all really interesting, as Wightmare can
actually be trouble for the couple Decks that it can
actually be used in, but, neither of those Decks
happen to be the most playable. Nice enough
support, but poor execution I think...

Tuesday is double pun day! You're having a Wightmare!
Discard it and special summon that King of the Skull
Servants you removed through another King or Allure!
Now you probably have two giant Kings! Woohoo! 2000
extra ATK in one discard!
Skull Servants use Magical Merchant to dump as many
Skull Servant cards as possible into the grave.
Then, they go crazy with cards like Book of Life and
Zombie Master. You summon your bulky Kings and end
the game in one or two Battle Phases. Thanks to
Wightmare, you have more speed, more Skull Servants,
more fuel, and more potential.
4.5/5
Art: British zombies?
Fun Fact: Nathaniel Cress is the new Bob Saget.
Tomorrow: You've chosen ______ as your next really
cool job!

Here’s a new addition to our favorite zombie
archetype, the skull servants: Wightmare. Having a
very meek attack and defense, this card doesn’t
really hit the field. Instead it stays in the hand,
giving it an advantage. This card, being able to be
discarded and either special summon a monster or add
another monster to your graveyard (excluding itself)
is very broken in this deck style. This card
has many targets to choose from in its case, because
when using King of the Skull Servants or Mezuki,
cards get removed from play all the time. But, on
the other hand, it is a dead draw at the start of
the game and can easily clog your hand. Also I
mentioned earlier that its stats are, well… To put
it bluntly, they stink. This card is an
essential for any skull servant deck… Very
essential.

The Skull Servant deck, just wont die will it?
Here we have Wightmare, a play on the words Wight,
which is skull servants name in the OCG and
Nightmare, which is associated with zombies. He has
the exact same stats and level as Skull Servant and
is treated as him in the grave. Which sounds
useless, but it's to set up King of the Skull
Servants. His first effect is you can discard him
from your hand to return King of the Skull Servants
or Wightmare from your RFG to your grave, for those
keeping track at home, this makes any Kings of the
SS up by 2000 if any are on your field. his second
effect is you discard him to special summon a King
or Lady in Wight from your RFG. So if any of them
got Dimensional Prisoned or removed by the Kings own
effect.
Traditional:2/5 anything that cant be used for
insane OTK combos is useless in this format. However
Tradional DOES have Graceful Charity and Painful
Choice
Advanced- (Skull Servant Decks only) 4/5, he adds
moar attack to King of the SS and brings back any
that got removed, so its really good.
Art: Definatly one of the more laid back looking
Zombies ive ever seen.

Wightmare …
I like it. It gives a little ‘oomph’ to a deck
subtype that’s never been very popular but
always seemed like it would be fun and possibly even
decent if someone ever made a real go at it. It adds
fuel to the Skull Servant fire, not only being
treated as a “Skull Servant” in the graveyard,
thereby boosting the ATK of King of Skull Servants
to wild new heights, but also by being able to
discard itself to the graveyard, via its own effect,
to do so! – Nice!
And then not only that – u can either A) return
more Skull-fuel to your grave which was removed from
play to boost things further, or B) special summon
back from out of play your Lady in Wight – aka –
‘the Wall of Protection’, or the King, whose ATK
should be through the roof right now.
Yeah, I’ve convinced myself. I’m gonna take a shot
at building this thing.
