Dark Paladin |
Extra Veiler, a Spellcaster who carries a sword,
which might lead you to believe he is a
Warrior...Anyway, we have a Level 2, Light
attributed monster, with 600 attack, and 200
defense, (not a Tuner) for the record.
When your opponent Special Summons a monster, or
monsters, you can Special Summon Extra Veiler from
your Hand. I'd say that's good, as you're
likely to pull this off during their turn.
During said turn of Special Summon by this effect,
your opponent takes any and all effect Damage you
would have taken from their effects instead.
It's actually not the worst effect, it just isn't
the most useful of effects. As previously
mentioned, not being a Tuner really reduces the
playability of this (or any Level 4 or below)
monster. Neat picture though.

Art: 4/5 This is a Spellcaster how?
Must have to do with ability of the card?

The CotD crew is taking a Thank You Giving break,
so there are only three reviews. We'll start off
with Extra Veiler, Effect Veiler's distant cousin.
You know the one. The one you have to deal with
every year at Christmas and Thanksgiving, the one
whose will you'll never get intto because you made
her run out of the house crying two years ago. That
one.
This card's special summon reacts to the opponent's
special summon. As a level 2 non-Tuner, there's
nothing special about Effect Veiler's stats. Even
worse, despite the fact that it and three hundred
other cards redirect effect damage to the opponent,
this only lasts for one turn. This effect will
hardly ever do anything. This card is just filler
trash.
1/5
Art: 5D's filler art is the only thing worse than
5D's filler effects.
Fun Fact: Amazoness decks can defeat Shooting Star
Dragon easily by using Amazoness Archers and Shrink.
Tomorrow: Funny names.

Today’s card is Extra Veiler. I wasn’t really
impressed by this card. First off, this card is not
a tuner, and it has pathetic stats. Next, its
ability is so specific that I doubt you’ll ever be
able to effectively play this card in any kind of
competitive play. I guess the only real upsides to
this card is that you get some kind of field
presence and you can use honest with him… like every
other light monster. There are just too many cards
that are better than this little guy. Cards that are
this specific with their effects are one of two
things, broken beyond belief or never played at all.
Anyone want to try for a guess on this one?
