Dark Paladin |
Monday
Lightning Warrior, a Jump Promo card, and he really
wants to be good. We have a Level 7, Light
attributed, Warrior type, Synchro monster (all
things are good thus far) with 2400 attack and 1200
defense.
Lightning Warrior is Synchro Summoned with a Tuner
and one or more non-Tuner type monsters. When
this card destroys an opponent's monster and sends
it to the Graveyard, inflict 300 damage to your
opponent.
Burn is a rather overlooked strategy, especially
these days, and sort of has been for a great while
of Formats, with the exception of things like
Thesalos. 2400 attack is low for a Level 7
monster, even one you Synchro for, and this guy
doesn't generate any advantage or anything really.
Hmm...300 burn per card isn't terrible to be honest,
but the fact that your opponent knows this, they
won't keep a large hand, as most don't anyway.
Earlier in the game is better with this guy for
sure.

Lightning Warrior ...
Short and easy today. Lightning Warrior sucks. 2400
ATK Synchro? - It better do something special. Burn
is nice, but only 300 extra damage per card in ur
opponent's hand? (when destroying a monster by
battle and sending it to the graveyard, for u lazy
folks that read the reviews w/o reading the actual
card effect first) ... It's not enough. Had it been
at least 500 per card, u might have had something to
consider. How many cards is ur opponent ever usually
even holding? The more cards they have, chances are
- the worse shape u are in anyway.
And then to top it off ... it's 7 stars.
Yeah, uhm ... No.

Lightning Warrior is crap. There. Konami hates
Level 7 Synchros, aside from Black Rose Dragon,
which has the same ATK score and a much more
powerful effect. If your deck doesn't suck, you have
something better to summon, and something better to
put in your Extra Deck. The 300 to ~1600 damage
isn't going to do much at all in a format where
people want you to attack their monsters, and attack
into that spell-trap zone that anything can safely
go into.
Lightning Warrior is filler, and that's that.
2/5
Art: Those are big hands.
Fun Fact: This card was supposed to make you want
Shonen Jump.
Tomorrow: ...Which doesn't even have any good mangas
left in it.

Pheano |
Hey Pojo, Pheano here with another Card Of The
Day For you.
Today we will be taking a look at one of the new
promo cards that you get for getting a subscription
to Shonen Jump Magazine this year, Lightning
Warrior. Lightning Warrior is a Level seven Light
Warrior Synchro Monster with twenty-four hundred
Attack and twelve hundred Defense. Its effect reads;
when this card destroys an opponent's monster by
battle and sends it to the Graveyard, inflict 300
damage to your opponent for each card in your
opponent's hand.
As I see it, this was an attempt to recreate Dark
Strike Fighter so that he wouldn’t be broken. In
case you don’t know or didn’t play in the 2009
format, the Dark Strike Format was all about killing
your opponent as fast as you could by destroying all
of their cards and then Attacking for over half of
their Life Points and then tributing the rest of
your Monsters for Dark Strike Fighter to kill them
in your Main Phase 2. Since there is pretty much no
way to get an outright one turn kill with this like
you could with Dark Strike Fighter and his effect is
Battle Phase conditional this is a balanced Dark
Strike Fighter. Now that is said though you must
understand that inflicting damage to your opponent
isn’t important unless it is killing them or putting
them under the life point amount where the can no
longer use cards such as Solemn Warning. Outside of
that, pushing for damage is a poor move in the face
of establishing board control or card advantage. In
short there are many Level seven Synchro’s that I
would make before this such as Black Rose Dragon,
Blackwing Armor Master, Arcanite Magician, and
Ancient Fairy Dragon to name a few, all of those
will give me some sort of advantage that this does
not give me.
In the Traditional Format the battle phase isn’t
very important and Dark Strike Fighter does this
card’s job better.
Bottom line:
Its ok but it’s just really random and has no real
effect on the metagame.

constructive criticism.

Puppet Master
The
Legion |
I’m trying to find some way to break this card
and make it awesome, but I just can’t find one. It’s
not that this card is bad or anything; don’t get me
wrong, it’s just that there are better cards. As for
the things that this card has going for it; he’s a
generic synchro, which is always a plus, he’s light,
which is also good, and he’s level 7 which is easy
to use. Also, he can cause some burn damage which is
good and can be potentially game winning during the
late game. However, as we all know, the synchro deck
has very limited space, and as for 7 star monsters,
we already have the best: Black Rose Dragon. Besides
him, in second place we have Scrap Archfiend, if
only for the sole purpose of being able to run over
Stardust Dragon. So there really isn’t room for
synchros that are just mediocre. I do think that
this card will see play, and hey, maybe there’s just
something I’m overlooking. Who knows?

The
Crowing |
So today we start off with one of the newest jump
cards. Lightning Warrior is a level 7 Light Warrior
with 2400 Attack and 1200 defense who is also a
synchro.
His effect is whenever he destroys an opponents
monster by battle he inflicts 300 damage for each
card in your opponents hand.
He's..... horrible. At least Konami didnt make you
have to need a specific tuner or synchro material.
The extra deck is cramped as it is, and level 7 is a
spot better reserved for Blackrose, or at least
Scrap Archfiend. His rather low for a level 7, 2400
attack and pointless burn effect just arent worth
it.
Traditional 1/5
Advanced 1/5
Fun Fact: His germen name is Blitzkrieger
