Pojo's Yu-Gi-Oh Card of the Day

Cyber Eltanin
#JUMP-EN038

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by removing from play all LIGHT Machine-Type monsters you control and that are in your Graveyard. This card's ATK and DEF become equal to the number of monsters removed from play when it was Special Summoned x 500. When this card is Special Summoned, send all other face-up monsters on the field to the Graveyard.

Cyber Eltanin ...

They should change the name of this card to - "The Big Move"! I like it ... I like it alot!

Remove Light Machines in your graveyard and from your field from play to special summon this thing, and its ATK/DEF is the number of removed monsters X 500. If u only get to remove 5, u still have a 2500 attacker. Any more and it just feels like Super Bonus Saturday (whatever THAT is) with this beast on the field. The nitty-gritty? - Light is awesome. Machines are pretty good. You should have a lot to work with when constructing a deck for this guy. What's even juicier is that he EARNS his name - "The Big Move" from his 2nd effect. Once special summoned, send all face-up monsters on the field to the graveyard. So assuming your opponent has nothing in his or her backfield when u bring this thing out - regardless of almost whatever kick-butt monsters your opponent may have lined up to defend them, if they were face-up - they are now gone. Opponent is now wide open for a direct attack. And by mid or late game, that direct attack is more and more likely to finish it all up.

Will there be decks built around this? - Yes.
Will they be any good? - Yes.

Cyber Eltanin, the new version of Chimeratech Overdragon pretty much with a few differences.

1. It can only be summoned by removing LIGHT Machine-Type monsters from play.
2. Eltanin only gets 500 attack points for each monster removed from play to summon it.
3. Chimeratech Overdragon sends all other cards you control to the Graveyard, Eltanin sends all other face-up monsters, including the opponents, to the Graveyard.
4. Eltanin is also a LIGHT monster, fitting with the Cyber Dragon theme and also being a great Honest target.
5. Finally, Chimeratech Overdragon can attack as many times as the number of monsters used to summon it, Eltanin does not.

With this, you can see some significant differences, and different uses. Sure, Eltanin can be used at 3 unlike Overload Fusion, and you can use Honest on it and so on. Personally I think Overdragon is still better, its stronger and has its multiple attack ability. I've basically already covered Eltanin's effect, but there really isn't all that many LIGHT Machine-Type monsters you will see people using. Proto-Cyber Dragon, Cyber Dragon, Cyber Dragon Zwei and Blue Thunder T-45 are probably the main ones you'd see people using in any deck that uses Eltanin, as well as, even though its not a Machine-Type monster, The Light - Hex Sealed Fusion for easy Cyber Twin Dragon. Eltanin may have an impact on the game, but we wont know till the upcoming jumps pass and we see whether or not it can do anything for the Cyber Dragon deck.
