Crush Card Virus is Banned, and with good reason.
It's power is reckless, unwieldy, and started making
its destructive way into far too many Decks. I'm not
going to sit here and do an in-depth review of a
Banned card, regardless of how good it is...or was.
This is one of the rare times in Yugioh where a
card was banned upon mass release, before pretty
much anyone got to use it. It's a mixed bag, as it's
really one of those cards that can absolutely
devestate a Format, but almost finds some balance in
the fact that you would find it in nearly every Deck
ever.
The things Crush Card Virus can do are
ridiculous. You get a free shot at your opponent's
Hand, and anything they may be hiding on the Field.
This only lasts three turns, but a wise player is
more than easily able to finish off their opponent
in these three turns.

10. Crush Card Virus
Crush Card Virus is one of the strongest (and
dumbest at the same time) of all time. Odds are, if
you played this in a game, you just devastated their
hand/field. It was very easy to activate this card,
while using cards like Sangan/Destiny Hero
Malicious/Gravekeeper’s Guard, you never lost
advantage while playing. I am very happy for it to
go, it was way too strong for this card game.
Some may say that it should still be around, and
I strongly disagree with that. It is one of the
strongest cards ever printed, and is simply unfair.
Your opponent could work really hard on building up
their field, to only have it go crashing down.
Simply put, it’s the best trap card ever made in my
eyes, and that is why it’s banned.

Crush Card Virus:
What is there to say about this card... it fit
into about any deck while it was legal at one, or at
least most people made it fit into their decks. I
saw decks that ran like, three targets for this card
and that was it, yet still main decked it (cough,
lightsworn, cough). If that does not say something
about the power of this card, then I don't know what
else can. This card can change the entire momentum
of a duel, or seal someones fate on turn two. When
coupled with obvious targets like sangan,
plaguespreader, or necro gardna (all cards begging
to be sent to the graveyard) it becomes broken. If
it said any other attribute other than dark or
light, I feel this card might stand a chance of
remaining unbanned, but even still the effect is
just soooo powerful. Being able to see your
opponent's hand is a very underrated ability in
yugioh that is one of the most powerful weapons at a
duelist's disposal. Knowing all of your opponents
outs for 3 turns helps you plan around them and win,
simple as that.

Crush Card Virus
I don't think CCV should have ever been
tournament-legal. It's that broken.
There's not much to say that others won't, so
I'll just give an analogy that relates to our
current metagame (more relevant up until Brionac
came out).
Let's say there's a small, innocent, defenseless,
newborn baby sitting on the ground. And let's say
there's a pack of ravenous, bloodthirsty,
baby-eating pitbulls all tied to a rope, trying to
tear the baby to tiny, delicious, fun-sized pieces.
If our meta is the baby, and Lightsworns are the
pitbulls, then banning CCV was the equivalent to
cutting the rope.

10 Crush Card Virus
This is one of the best cards in the entire game.
CCV wins most of the time if you get it's effect
off. The effect is of course to tribute a DARK
monster with 1000 or less ATK and then you destroy
all cards with 1500 or more ATK in your opponent's
hand and field and if they draw one for the next 3
turns.
This card was most of the reason that Sangan was
played, which allowed you get unchecked advantage
against an opponent and also fetch Destiny Hero
Malicious which got you that much closer to your own
combos and big monsters. The major importance of
Crush Card was definitely the intel. If you know
exactly what your opponent has when they try and
make a push, you can respond accordingly.
Since this was reprinted in Turbo Pack 1, I
expect that there are a great many copies out there,
at least more than when it was fetching 300 a pop. I
bought over 200 dollars of Gold Series 1 to try and
get one. However, now it is banned, although I
suspect that it could possibly make a comeback to
the game in order to counter Lightsworn, as 90% of
their best guys are all over 1500 ATK.
